Chapter V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary of Findings

In this research, we try to find out what are the effects of the K to 12 curriculum to a
Filipino Family. We started by formulating questions that may be basic but can answer the main
question. Afterwards, we distributed the questionnaires that we’re able to form, making sure that
some parents will be able to answer it knowing that they’re the ones who know what is the real
effect of the K to 12 to our society. After tabulating the questionnaires, we’ve learned that a lot
of respondents say that the K to 12 curriculum is basically about giving students better skills and
knowledge. Maybe because our country is known as one of the countries that has a high rate of
poverty. Through the K to 12 curriculum, the students will be able to look for a job even if
he/she finished senior high school only. For a country like ours’ a more immediate way of
having an opportunity to look for a decent job is badly needed, so for a lot of the respondents, the
main intention of the K to 12 curriculum is to provide more knowledge and skills for the students
to be able to look for a more decent job.

Conclusion

According to our findings, many store owners closed their businesses due to the
pandemic. Most of the store owners did not try to sell their products online and stick to the
physical stores that they operated during the pandemic when the government allowed them to
open their businesses. On the contrary, business owners did not recover the profit that they lost
because of the sudden shutting down of businesses around the world. Even though they did not
recover the profit they lost due to the pandemic, they did not lower or decrease the price of their
products. However, many of them did not operate their businesses online; they still beat their
competitors through promotion of their businesses after they opened their physical stores again.

With their businesses being shut down during the pandemic, businesses that did not choose to
operate their businesses through online selling ended up having no profitable source of income.

Nevertheless, in the middle of the pandemic, many of them did operate their businesses so they
could survive and buy their necessities.

Recommendations

The following recommendation are derived from the findings and conclusions:

1.The small business owners should take risks to start an online selling to grow their business
and to not get bankrupt they should find ways to still sell their products even if the pandemic is
still going.

2.If your business is food you should try to start door to door delivery or you should try joining
food panda or grab, anything that is available on your city or municipality.

3.As a business owner on a pandemic that is trying to survive or make their business successful
you should expand your delivery range to different cities and if possible make it in international.

4.As a small business owner you should focus on your cash flow because you might get bankrupt
if you don’t monitor your finances.

5.Regularly check your direct messages or email, of course the customers want the owner or staff
to be responsive on messages.

6. You should pay attention on your customer opinions or feedback about your product so you
can improve it.
