After watching the video about the problem statement:

1- Write a summary of what you understood about it.

After watching the video, it can be understood that one of the biggest difficulties when formulating a
problem is that people do not identify and review their findings first, this means that before a
researcher can identify his main problem, he must first analyze the information collected.

Once we have identified and organized our findings, we should proceed to ask the key questions:
why, what, and how? All this is in order to reach the objectives of our research because if we have
our objectives clear, our research will have a clear north by which we can continue investigating.

What is a problem statement?

we can identify problems by the way we express them, for example, those in which there is a lack of
study, then it is a primary objective to focus on what we want to find out from the research to
establish what information should be added to fill these "gaps".

It is important to mention that some of the most important studies are conducted in places outside
the location we are, that is why when conducting field research the study of the sample to be taken
should be applied in the location we are trying to investigate, in order to get results more attached to
the reality of the location where we are, and if we want we can add information from the research of
others to be able to refer some examples and cases.

When we are conducting an investigation, it is important to remember that we must pay special
attention to the factors that cause the main problem. The more factors we can find for our
investigation, the more information we will have to enrich it.

What is the problem?

Basically, the problem is the whole bad things that are or have already happened in a given
context, or good things that are not happening for some particular reason, this may be due, for
example, to difficulties caused by unknown factors, lack of knowledge of any topic, lack of effective
tools to resolve a situation, etc.

Finally, with the aim of unifying all of the above information and creating the main problem, we
must examine our evidence, ask the key questions, achieve the objectives to define in our research,
and finally formulate the main problem
2- Look for at least two examples of problem statements in any research project related to
the topic you've selected to investigate. HIGHLIGHT THE MAIN ELEMENTS INCLUDED IN THE
PROBLEM STATEMENT. (In the university repository)

Title:
“Sensory toys reduce frustration levels among autistic children”

Problem statement:
HOW THE SENSORY TOYS REDUCE THE FRUSTRATION LEVELS AMONG AUTISTIC CHILDREN IN THE
“GOTITAS FELICES SCHOOL” ON 2023?

Dependent Variable: Reduction in Frustration Levels

Independent Variable: Sensory Toys
Population: Autistic Children
Place: The “Gotitas Felices School”
Period of Time: 2021

CONFLICT SITUATION – PROBLEM SITUATION

1. why is the problem generated?

We believe that the problem arises because children with autism face new and complex
challenges every day, whether they have difficulties with communication, social interactions, or
emotional literacy, which often generate intense feelings of frustration and discomfort in them.

2. where is the source of the problem being detected?

The frustration that these children show, most of the time, is due to several factors that act
together such as the intolerance of their classmates in the face of the difficulties they present when
performing tasks that are easy for others to do, their behavior in front of stressful situations, the
lack of preparation of teachers who often do not have proper strategies to handle these situations
and they choose the most practical solution to these problems, their marginalization.

Basically, the biggest frustration of these children is the lack of understanding of their condition and
our research leads us to believe that the best way to canalize their feelings is through the use of
special toys.
3. who are the possible authors or generators of the problem?
We think that the main generators of the problem are the institutions in charge of developing
special needs planning for children with disabilities, who often ignore or minimize the magnitude of
the problems of the children they receive, and in order to save a few dollars in training for teachers
and in didactic material to handle these situations, they ignore the great prejudice that causes to
these young students.
4. what characteristics does the environment of the observed subjects have?
We found that when autistic children were able to control the sensory equipment, they paid
more attention and performed fewer sensory and repetitive behaviors. They also used less
stereotyped speech, produced fewer vocalizations, and showed lower levels of activity. Other
behaviors were not affected.
