Teacher Duration 5 days

I: OBJECTIVES  Organize data in tabular form and

presents them in a line graph
 Interpret data presented in different kinds
of line graphs
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of
line graphs and experimental probability.
B. Performance Standard The learner is able to create and interpret
representations of data (tables and line graphs)
and apply experimental probability in
mathematical problems and real -life situations.
C. MELC  Organizes data in tabular form and
presents them in a line graph. (M5SP - IVg
-2.5)
 interprets data presented in different kinds
of line graphs (single to double -line graph).
(M5SP - IVh -3.5)

(DO) Analyze the table that shows the election results
for the President of Math Club 2015.

B. ANALYSIS Activity 2:
(THINK) Answer the Guide Questions
1. What is the total number of learners voted
during the Math Club Elections?
2. If there is a total of 1600 learners who are
qualified to vote, how many learners did not

exercise their voting rights?
3. How helpful is the collection of data in any
survey?
C. ABSTRACTION Activity 3:

D. APPLICATION Activity 4:
(APPLY) 1. Plot the given data on a line graph.
2. What can you observe about the values?
3. What can you say about his speed as the
race went on?
IV. SELF ASSESSMENT

Activity 5
1. Which among the activities is easy for you to
understand?
2. What did you learn when performing the
different activities?
3. Was I able to organize in tabular form and
presents them in a line graph?
4. Was I able to interpret the data in different
kinds of line graph?

LEARNERS ACTIVITY SHEET (LAS)

Dear Learner,
Good Day. Below are your learning activities for the whole week. Please carefully
understand and follow the instructions provided. Don’t hesitate to ask for support from any
one whom you think can help you do the activities. Most importantly, be free and creative in
doing the activities BUT ensure safety at all times. Have fun.
Sincerely,
Your Teacher

After doing the tasks in Activity 1, reflect on the following questions. Write your
answer on the space provided for.

1. What is the total number of learners voted during the Math Club Elections?

Line Graph
Data gathered and organized can be presented using graphs. One of these is the
line graph. The line graph has a vertical line called the y-axis which contains the first
variable in the collected data. On the other hand, the horizontal line called the x-axis in
the line graph contains the second variable that relates to the first variable in the
collected data

Constructing a Line Graph

5
In constructing a line graph, we follow these steps:
1. Draw the lines for the x-axis and the y-axis.
2. Use the data from the table to label the axes.
3. Plot the points that corresponds to each variable in the table.
4. Connect the points with a line segment
5. Put a title on the graph

Interpreting a Line Graph

In a line graph, a line that goes up means an increase in value while a line that
goes down from its previous point means a decrease in value.

Example:
Use the data in the table to construct a line graph.
