I. INTRODUCTION

Whereas ranking individuals based on their academic performance has been a customary practice in
educational institutions across the globe, it serves the purpose of providing a fair and impartial comparison of
an individual's academic achievement vis-à-vis their peers. This practice also serves as a source of motivation
for students to strive for excellence and achieve their full potential. The ranking system aids in identifying the
highest achievers in a particular cohort, thereby acknowledging their superior academic abilities and
rewarding them accordingly. Furthermore, ranking provides a basis for future academic or professional
pursuits, where institutions and employers often require a minimum level of academic performance.
Therefore, the continuation of the practice of ranking individuals in academics is deemed essential, as it acts
as an effective means of recognizing and rewarding academic excellence, encouraging individuals to strive for
better performance, and providing a foundation for future academic and professional endeavors.

III. RANKING & GRADING SYSTEM

(M) Masters (CAESAR), 95%+ - Whereas an individual has exhibited exceptional skill and academic prowess
that surpasses that of their peers, with a score of 95% or higher in their academic pursuits, said individual
shall be granted the title of "Master". This designation shall be a recognition of their superior level of
achievement in their respective field of study.

Masters are identified with their Purple Lace/Identification around their neck, while bearing the
symbol of the Laurel Leaves signifying them as CAESAR.

(P) Protogè, 90-94% - In the context of academic grading, a "protégé" refers to a student who is receiving
guidance and mentorship from a more experienced and knowledgeable individual in their field of study.
Despite being evaluated based on the same criteria as their peers, a protégé may also receive additional
support, feedback, and guidance from their mentor. This personalized instruction aims to improve the
protégé's academic performance, enhance their understanding of the subject matter, and help them reach
their full potential. The mentor may also offer opportunities for the protégé to further their knowledge and
skills beyond the regular curriculum. The primary objective of a grading system that includes mentorship of a
protégé is to aid the student in succeeding academically and achieving their long-term goals in their chosen
field.

Protogè’s are identified by the Green Lace/Identification around their neck.

(A) Apprentice, 85-89% - The term "apprentice" in academics refers to a student who is learning a particular
trade, skill or profession under the guidance and supervision of an experienced and skilled practitioner.
Apprenticeship programs combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction to provide students with a
well-rounded education and practical experience in a particular field. In an academic context, apprenticeship
programs typically involve a student working alongside a mentor or master in their field, with the aim of
gaining practical skills and knowledge to complement their theoretical education. Apprenticeship programs
may vary in length and requirements, but typically involve a combination of coursework and hands-on
experience, with the student gradually taking on more responsibility and independence as they progress. At
the end of the apprenticeship, the student is typically awarded a certificate or other credential that
demonstrates their proficiency in the trade, skill, or profession they have learned.

Apprentices are identified by the Red & White Lace/Identification around their neck

(C) Candidate, 80-84% - In an academic ranking system, a "candidate" typically refers to a student who is
eligible for consideration for an academic award, scholarship, or other form of recognition. The criteria for
being a candidate may vary depending on the specific program or award, but generally involves meeting
certain academic standards, such as achieving a minimum grade point average or demonstrating proficiency in
a particular subject or skill. Once a student is considered a candidate, they may undergo further evaluation,
such as interviews, essays, or additional testing, to determine their suitability for the award or recognition.
Ultimately, being a candidate in an academic ranking system means that a student is being considered for an

opportunity to receive recognition for their academic achievements and potentially gain additional benefits or
opportunities as a result.

(N) Novice, 79% & Below - In an academic ranking system, a "novice" typically refers to a student who is new to
a particular subject or field of study and has limited knowledge or experience in that area. Novices may be
evaluated differently from more experienced students, as their level of understanding and proficiency may be
lower. They may be given more basic assignments or tasks to help them build a foundation of knowledge and
skills, and they may receive additional guidance or support from their instructors or peers. As they gain more
knowledge and experience, novices may progress to higher levels in the academic ranking system and be
evaluated based on increasingly complex criteria. Overall, being a novice in an academic ranking system means
that a student is at the beginning stages of their academic journey and has the potential for growth and
development as they continue to learn and gain experience in their field of study.

Novices are identified by the White lace/identification around their neck.
