Vertical Farming / Tower Farming Project (PBL)
By: Nathan Emmanuel M. Villanueva
RECAP : Once again, my PBL is:
A Sustainable Vertical Farm (Tower Farm) which will be able to produce crops of different varieties at a self-
sustaining pace on its own = a schematic/design of a sustainable farming initative project.
What makes it "SELF-SUSTAINING/SUSTAINABLE"?

How will my structure work and look like?
DESIGN #1: STRUCTURAL REFERENCE DESIGN

We can see here how the structure will look like, it being a
4x4x8ft structure made out of wood. We used wood as it was the only available material that was
easiest to work with; without the use of other machinery (i.e Welding Machines).

In this image, you will be able to see the general dimensions of the Vertical Farm and how the
plywood is designed (i.e the Holes and the Piping/Tubing)

DESIGN #2: PIPING AND WATERWORKS

REFERENCE DESIGN

Here in this image, we can see how water will work

dropping down) and how it will be able to touch the

My E-Portfolio

MY E-PORTFOLIO:

Alongside the website, I thought to myself recently that it would be a bit easier on the
eyes if I wrote articles and/or blogs to support the website so that there's a much more
interesting feel to it. So I named it "La Agricultura Del Futuro" The Agriculture of the
Future.

Since Sustainable Agriculture is one of the world's leading industries nowadays, I believe
that there has been a revolutionary breakthrough in agriculture technology which will
bring us into the world of futuristic agriculture (i.e Using Robots and like machines on the
fields and grown indoors).

Soon I hope to be publishing articles and tabloids or such of the like regarding agriculture
technology and sustainable living on my website: However, it's complicated to get a good
design and get a good website that's worth presenting. So what I can offer now is a good
tabloid, the La Agricultura del Futuro.
Simple Information on how to run the Vertical Farm

To complement La Agricultura del Futuro; I made 3 Infographics, one for How to

plant in the Vertical Farm, another for the Pros and Cons of Sustainable Farming
Methods, and third, Pros and Cons of Traditional Farming Methods; so that people
could weigh out which one they want to do, and if they choose sustainable
methods; how to do it.
Supporting Papers & Research

To support my project, I have gathered words from both International and Filipino
(Local) Agricultural Experts and Personnel who work in the Department of
Agriculture; or rather are Agricultural Experts, Enthusiasts, Scientists, etc.

All information was gathered through a series of documentaries and accredited

articles online from institute websites themselves.

This Research Paper explains and notes on the Employment Opportunities in the
Philippines for Filipinos in the Modern Agricultural Sector. It is very apparent that
nowadays the younger generation of the Philippines is completely not interested in
Agriculture and very few remain interested; the only way I believe people will get
interested again is if they see something that they're familiar with, on the field or
in the farm. (i.e Robots, Machinery, Sci-Fi Things, Futuristic Things, etc.)
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO MY PRESENTATION!

Vertical Farming / Tower Farming Project (PBL)

If you're wondering how the crops would fit, the Vertical Farm's platforms could
be customized per crop and crops that require soil, rather this would be an
"Inverted Vertical Farm", more on that to come next time.
ADDITIONALLY; The Vertical Farm once completed will have its own regulating
ADDITIONALLY: The seed first reaches its seedling stage, and once there are pump which will turn on and off at certain hours to allow a constant flow of
some roots showing, we transfer it onto the drilled hole, supported by water on schedule to be present for the efficient and maximized growth of the
stylophone/foam so it doesn't fall through the hole. The foam will grip the neck of crops on the Vertical Farm. } This project however has already cost over 50,000
the root and hold it gently as the water flows beneath it. php in supplies, personnel, and transportation. - What a cost for a prototype.
