"PROM NIGHT"

Many say that school is a place to learn and a place for understanding, but for me,
school is not just that, it is also a place to make friends and create unforgettable memories.
Now, I am already in my final year of high school, yet, I still have not experience attending a
prom. When I was in junior high school, I heard a lot from my cousins and their friends that
a prom was one of the best things that ever happened during their high school life. Since
then, I have always imagined myself attending a prom. I even made imaginary scenarios
about the things that could possibly happen if I attended one in the future.

Me and my friends have now talked

about JS Prom for quite sometime
during our vacant time. We talked about
how amazing a prom can be, they even
imagined themselves wearing dazzling
crystal dresses, some even joked about
making a scene in the middle of the event
that we just laughed at.

One morning, our adviser welcomed us with a big smile on his face that kind of
wondered us. Then, he announced that we would be having a prom 2 weeks from now. The
announcement surprised us, since not even a single parent attended the meeting. That time I
realized how happy I was. I eventually looked at my friends and they faced me with big
smiles, the same as mine. I did not mind the expenses, because I care more about the
experience. Besides, I am not the one who will pay for that. It has been a dream of mine since
I started high school. I paid the expenses a few days after the announcement and searched for
a possible outfit that would fit me and would make me presentable for the event. Days passed
so fast and the night before the event I could not go to sleep well due to my excitement. I
made myself comfortable by opening the fan and playing relaxing music to comfort me, and
that thing made me sleep.

The day I have been dreaming of has

come. It is the day of the prom and hours
before the event I decided to cut my hair
and prepare the things I needed for the
prom. I was delighted just imagining how
amazing the prom can be considering the
events that the facilitator prepared for
us.
Now it was time for the prom to happen, my classmates and my friends were running in heels
to fall in line for the entrance. I sat beside my friends to make me comfortable for the event.
The event started with a speech from various people important in making the event come to
life. I cannot stay in my seat so well because of my excitement. In the middle of the event, I
realized how I smiled so much that I could not even take it off my face. I was not just the one
who was waiting for this event to happen, because, seeing my fellow students wearing these
beautiful gowns, shimmering dresses, and elegant looks makes me realized that they have
really geared well for the prom.

A prom is not a prom without the traditional cotillion. I am one among those students who
were picked to dance for the cotillion, which is another thing I have not done since it is my
last year in high school and it is gonna be my first time to experience it. I danced with my
partner, it was full of smiles and laughter during the dance,because, we barely remembered
each step in each sequence, so, my partner and I just made fun out of it.

After the cotillion, more programs happened. The place was full of light with candles lit and, as
the souvenir was given, my friends and I eventually took pictures for memories. The major event of
the prom ended and it was time for the live band to play. Students piled in the middle of the gym
and danced to the beat of the music. I dance along with my friends and classmates. I do not care
anymore about how I sweat a lot and how I look, because the only thing stuck in my mind is to have
fun. This prom night enables me to experience the dream of my high school life. It was full of
happiness and nothing less. This is the night I will remember for the rest of my life. The feeling I felt
during this fun-filled experience will always stay in me and will never be gone, because it is a dream
come true.
