    La Ville Lumière = the City of Light (nickname for Paris)

    Le quartier = the neighborhood

    Un magasin = a store

    Une boutique = a shop

    Un commerce = a store, a shop, a commercial activity (restaurants…)

    Un créateur local (des créateurs locaux) = local designer(s)

    Un achat = a purchase ; acheter = to buy

    Faire un cadeau = giving a gift

    Un produit convenable / abordable = A suitable / affordable product

    Bon marché = pas cher = Inexpensive / cheap ; cher = expensive (or “dear”)

    Le Bon Marché = The Good Market (famous department store in Paris)

    Faire du shopping = to go shopping (le shopping) = Faire les magasins ; faire les boutiques ;
    faire ses achats

    Trouver son bonheur = “Find one's happiness”, find what one is looking for

    Un vêtement = une fringue (familiar) = A piece of clothing

    Le prêt-à-porter = ready-to-wear

    La haute couture = High fashion

    Un couturier = a fashion designer

    Le luxe = luxury

    Haut-de-gamme / de luxe = high-end

    Une marque (de luxe) = a (luxury) brand

    Ce genre de marques = this kind of brands

    La plupart de ces marques = most of these brands

    Un sac à main = a handbag

    La maroquinerie = leather goods

    Un fromage affiné = an aged cheese

    Un parfum envoûtant = an enchanting fragrance, perfume

    Un marché de producteurs = a producers' market, a farmer’s market
