Discuss the importance and utility of Organon in


Homoeopathy medical science.
Homoeopathy is a system of medical treatment
promulgated by Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel
Hahnemann, a German physician. He wrote the
Organon of Medicine book the constitution of
homoeopathy medical treatment which containing
the principles of Homoeopathy along with critical
analysis of the different other modes of treatment
prevalent during his time.
The aim and object of Hahnemann for writing
Organon of Medicine was to present to the medical
profession the doctrines, merits and the practical
instructions for the practice of Homeopathy in a
logical and elaborate way. He also criticised the
other prevailing systems of medicine and
established the superiority of homoeopathy.
Dr, Kent says in his lectures, “Homoeopathy is
applicable to every curable case but the great thing
is to know how to apply this”. The study of Organon
helps the physician to acquire the knowledge of
homoeopathy in treating the suffering humanity.

which help to learn the physician both the
theoretical and the practical part of homoeopathic
medical system.

to treat the patient and how to proper use the

In the Organon of Medicine Dr. Hahnemann
describes how to treat the patient, use of drugs,
proper identification of disease and prepare of
medicine etc. A physician can acquire the
knowledge of every uses of homoeopathic medical
treatment system by reading the Organon of
Medicine.
Because of describing the rules and regulation
Homoeopathic treatment system the Organon of
Medicine is called the constitution of
Homoeopathy.
5. Describe the medical life of Dr. Hahnemann.
The reformer of the modern medical science and
the father of Homoeopathic medical system Doctor
Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann was born on
10th April 1755 at Meissen, in Saxony of Germany.
With the help of his father Gottfired and mother
Johanna Christiana he learned to read and write.
Due to poverty he struggled to finish his early
education life at school. In 1775 at the age of 20 he
left for Leipsic for higher studies in medicine. He
took his father’s advice to heart ‘Prove all things,
hold fast that which is good. Besides of studying
medicine he earned his bread and butter by
teaching and translating book from different
languages. From Leipsic he went to Vienna where
the advantages for medical study were much
greater.
