health.

 HISTORY: Cosmetics are used to enhance your appearance. Makeup has been
around for many centuries. The first known people who used cosmetics to
enhance their beauty were the Egyptians. Makeup those days was just simple
eye coloring or some material for the body.

standard set by society. It makes us look fresh by pressurizing the cells inside
the layers of the skin. Makeup is used when we want to look confident and
competent. It is a way to tell the world that one is not stressed or nervous but
happy and chill.

better mental health, higher self-esteem and healthier relationships. Negative
body image affects people of all ages, with 31% of teenagers and 35% of adults
feeling depressed or ashamed because of how they perceive their bodies.

 COVERING INSECURITIES: Wearing makeup has become an essential tool in

society to manage social expectations. By using makeup people are able to

something that relieves their anxiety. In fact, studies have found a correlation
between short, repetitive rituals and perceived boost in happiness

more attractive, competent, dominant, and more socially prestigious. Individuals
differ in how much and how frequently they use makeup. Some studies show that
women with lower self-esteem use more makeup, probably to hide imperfections.

beauty images can lead to body dissatisfaction, depression, anxiety and even
eating-disordered behaviors in girls and women. These images trigger a simple
but destructive comparison process.
