Mr. Santos administered a test consist of 45 multiple-choice type of questions. The

scores of the students were:

26 31 27 28 31 29 30 26
27 26 37 30 29 38 28 27
28 36 29 45 32 39 21 31
37 24 36 33 23 40 22 32
25 38 21 22 35 16 18 34

1. Construct a frequency distribution table. Use 6 as the desired number of class

2. Construct a histogram of the students’ score

3. Compute for the mean

4. What is the middle score

5. Solve the mode

6. If your score is 38, are you considered to be an average on that test? Why?

7. Find the standard deviation. Are the scores scattered or intact?

6.To determine if a score of 38 is considered average we need to consider the mean score and the
overall distribution of scores since the mean score is 30 a score of 38 is higher than the
mean ,generally a being above the means indicates a performance better than average. So a score of
38 would be considered above average rather than average

7.To find the standard deviation, we need to calculate the sum of all the terms we obtained earlier
and divide it by the total frequency. Then, we take the square root of the result, divide the sum by
the total frequency and take the square root of the result
the standard deviation of the scores is approximately 5.57.
Regarding whether the scores are scattered or intact, a standard deviation of 5.57 indicates a
moderate amount of dispersion or variability in the scores. It suggests that the scores are not tightly
clustered around the mean, but there is some spread among the scores. So, the scores can be
considered somewhat scattered
