Summer Holiday
Project
GRADE- XII
SESSION 2023-24
Learn continually-there’s always “one more
thing” to learn!
Steve Jobs

The Home projects, have been designed to

enhance communication skills, language skills
and problem-solving skills. Build sensitivity
towards environmental and societal concernsand
apply artistic skills to bring forth a
comprehensive and effective level
of educational experience.

This year interestingly our state Haryana has

been assigned Manipur for art integrated
learning, whose aim is to unleash our
understanding and appreciation of our diverse
cultural heritage. Intrigued?
ENGLISH

Dear Children
“Books are a uniquely portable magic”

Reading is the act of learning through someone else’s experiences or ideas by

reading their thoughts on paper. It takes one’s imagination on a ride and transports
it to a different world. Books are a medium for people to connect over large
distances in terms of time or space.
Books offer diverse themes, thought-provoking narratives, and literary significance
that can enhance critical thinking and broaden the perspectives. Foster a positive
attitude towards reading and enhance your overall learning experience.
Enjoy your summer reading!

Here are some book recommendations you may like to read during the summer
holidays:

 The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga

 Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
 The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
 Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
 Animal Farm by George Orwell

TASK TO BE COMPLETED

After reading a book (drama/novel/verse) of your choice, to enhance the

understanding and make the most of the reading experience, kindly choose one of
the suggested activities given below. An A3 sheet may be used for the same.

 Reflective Journaling (write journal entries reflecting thoughts, emotions,

and connections to the book. Themes, character development, or personal
reactions can be explored)
 Book Review (write book reviews, create video reviews, summarizing
opinions, writing recommendations for the book, interpretations, or favorite
parts of the book
 Character Analysis (analyze the main characters, exploring their
motivations, actions, and changes throughout the story. Profiles creation,
comparison between different characters, or even role-play interviews with
the characters)
 Creative Projects (create artwork, write poems, compose songs, or even
design a book cover to represent the interpretation of the story)
 Research (historical context related to the book, exploring relevant events,
cultural references, or societal issues depicted in the book)
 Comparative Analysis (comparative analysis to compare the book with other
literary works or related media such as movies, TV shows, or plays, explore
similarities, differences, or underlying messages)

The above mentioned activities allow a broader perspective and encourage

reading across different genres and themes.

Note of caution:

 Originality and creativity are the key words.

 Avoid plagiarism to prevent being disqualified.
 The project is part of Internal Assessment and will be graded.
