INTRODUCTION

Education is the starting point for any type of growth and development. It is the key and

stepping stone of every child that will lead them to a brighter future. Many were affected to the

sudden break of the COVID-19 including the education of the children. Some schools provide

modular learning and some students are taking up their online classes. Therefore the parents must

assure that their child must do well in school for them to secure their future.

Due to the great phenomena we are facing right now, the students have no choice but to

study through virtual learning. Online learning is the result of the development of technology

that helps us in our daily living that gives emphasize to the openness of leaning and resources.

Thus, it has become the mainstream of learning and, most of the number of students participated

with it. Moreover, students and parents question the true essence of learning as if the current

education system is not effective for them. Given that, the real essence of online learning was

intended for students for them to have a continuous intellectual development, to acquire a

effective learning, they must participate on the actively participate on the discussion. There are

so many questions in their mind that they want to seek for answers. These are: what teaching

styles are applicable to those students who are struggling in face to face learning and likely in

learning online, what are the factors that affect the interests of the students during online classes,

if online classes are really effective, what does the school have to act on it and how they will act

in regards to this phenomenon.

Background of the Study

The effects of teaching styles to students' interest during online classes.

Learning style alludes to the novel ways an individual cycles and holds new data and abilities. In

this examination, we expected to distinguish the learning styles of understudies and research the

connection between scholastic execution and learning style subscale scores to decide if the

learning styles of understudies could impact scholarly. An instructor's encouraging style

influences understudies' involvement with school. It can incite practical or non-utilitarian

impression of learning, self-viability and homework, Along these lines, a suitable encouraging

style can help forestall early school leaving.

Review of Related Literature

According to Avgerinou & Moros 2020, The 5-Phase Process where each phase was

conceived as an AR intervention, was meant to provide constituents, students, parents and

teachers to have a clear sense of direction at a time where nothing else is secure. Outlining clear

and crisp phases was necessary to pave a path for all negative virtual learning with

approximately a two-to-three week time frame built into each phase so the associated learning

curve could easily adjust and scaffold to the necessary online needs.

The existing models on the styles of learning and teaching do not permit predetermining

the performances, the answers or the academic results of the teachers in their interaction with the

students by means of the computer, independent of the software selected, rather more the social

interactions within the traditional classroom. This is the reason why is necessary to have a

reference point that attempts to describe and to make understandable the diversity of styles in

online education, in an effort to improve current practices that sometimes are overlooked

(Popkewitz, 1990).

Teachers can use blogs to upload teaching materials, review student's homework, interact

with students, post course-related materials, share information, and review student's learning

processes (Chen, Lai and Ho 2015). In this study, teaching blog is defined as a learning tool

established by teachers to serve as information provider and content contributor.

The learning strategies used by school teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic were to

conduct home visits, strategies for combining home visits and online learning and strategies.

Home visiting strategies are generally carried out by teachers in rural/remote areas, while online

learning strategies are carried out by teachers in urban area. The learning strategies undertaken

by each teacher have advantages and disadvantages, both from the subject matter that not

maximally provided to students, psychological factors learning facilities, and the accuracy of the

result of the learning evaluation. (Kalengkongan, et al. 2020)

Assumption

argument presented in the paragraph. Topic sentence should be followed by supporting

information from the reliable and up-to-date sources. Avoid plagiarism using direct and/or

citation. Do not leave a paragraph with a citation at the end. Every paragraph should end with a

transition sentence serving as a bridge between two adjacent paragraphs.

Statement of the problem

This study focused on the effect of facilitator teaching style to students’ interest

during online classes of the Senior High School students at Senior High School in Apalit Stand

Alone 1 S.Y 2020-2021. This research aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the effects of teaching styles to students during online class?

2. How does teaching styles affect students’ interest?

3. How does teaching style helps students to focus on their study?

Significance of the Study

A teacher's teaching method affects how student's experiencing school. It can

provoke non-functional or functional perceptions of learning, self-efficacy, self-esteem and

schoolwork, through an appropriate teaching method can help prevent leaving school.

Comparing face-to-face learning with online brings significant deficiencies in the online mode

and teaching method because there is a barrier, sometimes it can be the student have a poor

connection, it can influences the student from their life performance. A motivated teacher is

crucial to a successful classroom. Teacher have a significance, lifelong impact of all students.

atmosphere greatly affect student's achievement, proven the most effective way in learning is

interactive classroom. Inspirational learning and teachers give positive effects.

Scope and delimitation

According to performed studies about the relationship of teacher – student and

teacher teaching style, the main purpose of this research is to examine the effect of teaching style

on students' adaptation in three emotional, educational and social domains. Adjustment behaviors

in the learning environment decrease the anxiety and tension of students and improve learning.

The purpose of emotional adjustment is to identify the feelings and positive and negative

emotions in self and having control on negative feelings related to self and others. Educational

adjustment is defined as adaptation with school environment, teachers, classmates, training

materials and lesson content and also having interest to education and attention to the lesson.

Social adjustment refers to having some characteristics such as communication with classmates

and friends, proper communication with teachers, participation in collective works and group

activities and having social skills. As with all research projects, there were several initial

delimitations to this study. First, it was limited by defining distance education as on-line

coursework only. Distance education classes are being delivered by correspondence, video

interaction, and video and audio interaction. By examining only courses that were offered on-

line, the results of the present study may have been influenced in some way. A second

delimitation related to the sample. A convenience sample of instructors was used. It is possible

that this sample did not reflect online instructors in general. If so, the results might have been

skewed. Another delimitation to the study was the way in which the survey was constructed. The

researcher used Chickering and Gamson’s (1987) criteria on good practices and translated these

Downloaded by Jad?eeey? (princejadecajurao@gmail.com)

lOMoARcPSD|27288231

practices into survey items. It is possible the survey created by the researcher did not include all

measures associated with good instructional practices. If this occurred, the results might have

been influenced. Despite these delimitations, the study was worthwhile. Understanding the scope

of knowledge by instructors of distance education courses can assist higher education

administrators in several areas including curriculum assessment and development.

Definition of Terms

self-discovery and develop problem-solving skills, which can often lead to the student

developing a much deeper understanding of the topic.

Learning Strategies- More specifically, a learning strategy is an individual's way of
