AFFIDAVIT-EXPLANATION
RE DISCREPANCY IN DATE OF BIRTH

I, LETECIA PANICAN-ARUBIO, of legal age, married, Filipino and with residence

at 1646 Laloma St., Camarin, Brgy. 178, Manila, after having been duly sworn to in
accordance with law do hereby depose and state that:

1. I am the daughter of the late Conrado Panican;

2. As such, I generally know his personal circumstances;

3. Among others, my late father presented himself to have been born in Brgy.
Botaera, Zumarraga, Samar on 13 October 1931, and which birth he presented and used
in his Social Security System (SSS) records; nonetheless, he also presented and used his
date of birth as 13 October 1935 in his Government Service Insurance System (GSIS)
records as he was employed in the government;

3. The afore-mentioned discrepancy in his given date of birth, 13 October

1931 with that of my SSS records, and in the GSIS, which is 13 October 1935, is made in
utmost good faith and never intended to defraud the government, its agencies and
instrumentalities, particularly the SSS, the GSIS as well and third persons nor to evade
obligations, but solely due to the valid reasons herein set forth;

4. Notwithstanding the discrepancy in his date of birth, 13 October 1931 and

13 October 1935, as indicated in said records, the same refers to the one and only
person of my late father and no other;

5. I am executing this affidavit to attest the truth of all the foregoing and for
other legal purposes.
