The movie Bad Genius was directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya and has won several
awards within the asian film industry. The story-line talks about how many students, especially
those who are taking exams for college entrances, would do anything just to be able to pass
and get into the school they desire. It shows the many trials and tribulations within the education
system we live in today.

For me that part that resonated with me regarding the misused gifts and cooperation was
the part where they were already taking the test in another country. On the side of misused gifts,
of course cheating and lying to your parents about going abroad for a school competition was
not the right thing to do. Instead of using their ability to memorize those answers, maybe a good
way to earn money while doing that would be to memorize stock charts and their movements to
buy and sell them. Though they were also able to get the test a misplaced cooperation that was
seen was also during the bathroom scene wherein Bank told their group chat for more money.
This scene also resonates with me because when watching the movie, and knowing that Bank
was beaten up because of Lyn, sometimes you also can't really blame him for asking for more
money because of what happened to him and how essential he is to the plan. Just like in real
life too, some people who feel mistreated and undervalued would feel the need to take
advantage of their power and being able to take advantage of it for themselves rather than
thinking of everyone else.

Both Lyn and Bank have similar situations but not necessarily the same mind set when it
comes to everything. They are both students that were able to get scholarships, they also seem
to have trouble with money at home, since the dad was a teacher and it looks like the mom of
Bank was either a maid or just a stay at home mom.With that said, their views about cheating
were that money was their main problem in life. Yes they needed the money, and that was the
main reason for doing that and also their similarity but, their mindset regarding to what extent
they would do is also another factor. A certain scene in the movie where Bank asked for more
money while taking the test shows how he was greedy and thinking about himself rather than
how everyone would be able to benefit well from that cheating scheme. Lyn on the other hand
even with all of the responsibility on her shoulder during the test when Bank was caught did not
ask for more money and just did her job. Even when she admitted to the authorities at the end
of the movie about how she cheated just shows how good of a person she is and that no
amount of money could truly give someone a clean and good conscience.
