HYDRAULIC POWER
A320 RAT Actuator has a 20 Year Overhaul limitation, ALS Part 4. The CMM describes the Overhaul and defines
"Modify the Ram Air Turbine Actuator to the latest configuration by incorporating all outstanding service bulletins."
Especially VSB ERPS08A-29-4, which is considered as optional acc. VSB (Compliance: (1) Incorporation of this
service bulletin is optional based on operator’s experience.), makes the overhaul definition seem questionable and
from a technical point of view we do not see the need to perform optional VSBs during an Overhaul.
The definition of the overhaul should be changed to "incorporate all outstanding mandatory Service Bulletins".
Hamilton: What is the technical reason to include optional SBCs in the overhaul requirements? Will there be a
revision of the CMM reflecting the above-mentioned proposal?

The sub assembly part transducer P/N 970294-7 does not have a separate test of its own and requires the next
higher assembly (NHA), P/N 975326-7, to ensure good operation.
Please note to test the NHA it is necessary to systematically test the sub assembly part regarding its own CMM.
Could the CMM be updated to consider this and test operation of the sub assembly part during the test of the NHA?
