Manifesto
Greetings teachers across the length and breadth of St. Catherine. I am offering myself to be
elected as your JTA President-Elect for the St. Catherine Teachers’ Association for the
Conference Year 2023-2024. I have a passion for volunteerism and advocacy hence I can be
described as a servant leader. I have served in leadership roles in various civic organizations,
clubs and societies with distinction. I am the Immediate Past President of the Portmore District
Association where I have implemented a number of impactful first time projects which
benefitted the teachers tremendously. If given the opportunity to serve as your Parish
President, I will replicate these projects across the parish. In addition, I will continue to
resolutely advocate for better salaries and conditions of service for teachers. Below are a few
highlights of my manifesto:

Impactful professional development sessions focusing on:

 Honing ones’ pedagogical practices using technology
 Advocacy in both institutional and professional development (Trade union education)
 Financial management, Investment & Estate planning

Inter District Associations Competitions:

 Mr. & Ms. JTA St. Catherine Pageant
 Sports (Football, Cricket & Netball)
 Quiz competition (knowledge of JTA & Education Sector)

St. Catherine Teachers’ Association Family Fun Day (Fort-Clarence Beach)

 Domino tournament
 Culinary skill competition
 Talent show

Parish Awards Ceremony (recognizing teacher for their work and worth)
 Past & present stalwarts in the parish
 Contact Teachers’ Award

Faith and spiritual growth and development

 Parish church service to be held at the beginning of each term
 Prayer Breakfast
