SAMR
Substitution, which is the easiest stage for any teacher
new to using the computers in the classroom.

Augmentation stage the technology is adding some


improvements over the old way.

Modification happens when significant task redesigns


occur. We are giving our students new options and they are
able to do things in a much more effective way using the
computers

Redefinition occurs when the technology has allowed for


the creation of new tools and methods that were not
possible before.

SAMR- Properties of Matter
Substitution- Use Google slides to sort properties.
Augmentation- Add a video of properties of matter to
presentation.
Modification- Take a picture using Chatterpix. Sort real
objects in your classroom
Redefinition- Record a video using Chatterpix explaining
properties and sharing it on the class gallery.

Rewards or incentives for participants- Teachers will see an increased in
engagement from the students. The learning will be done through hands on
experiences and real world application. In addition, you will be allowed to go
observe other teachers doing the same model in other school. This will be a
paid opportunity for the teachers that participate.

Participation- Teacher are encouraged to try this teaching model. It is


definitely worth trying it and seeing for yourself.

Commitment- If you want to join we will asking you to fill out our google
survey this summer to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Leadership at all levels to keep things going. All levels are required to maintain an
active role of keeping the innovative proposal going.

We are a team! We all need to support each other to keep the innovative proposal going.
What is your plan for communicating the proposed change?

As a campus, we are choosing to


communicate the proposed change
during a staff meeting at the end of the
current school year. Our goal is to roll
out the plan next school year. Once we
get started we will continue to
communicate via email.
What are the biggest challenges you will
potentially face? How will you overcome these
challenges?
The biggest challenge we will
potentially face is time. We
already do not have extra time
to plan BUT we can do it
together. Working together
and collaborating is key to a
successful project-based
learning opportunities for our
students.
What do you expect to happen on your campus or
organization if the proposed change is
implemented?
When the proposed change in
implemented, our students will
open a door of curiosity. They
will be so engage to learn more
through the project-based
learning method. Our goal is
for our students to be lifelong
learners.
How will you know if you have achieved success?

Like mentioned before, Teacher will


have data to support this plan. It will be
evident that the frameworks are
enhancing learning. Students will be
engaged and the formative and
summative assessments will be a piece
of evidence of the success of the plan.
