 This is an advanced and applied financial management course. Students shall discover creative ways of
thinking about different types of managerial problems, apply financial theory and analytical tools in
corporate-like settings, and formulate and support realistic recommendations. To provide students with
Aims and Objectives required finance background to analyze the assigned cases, the course covers the relevant financial
theory and quantitative techniques in each class period. Students must be able to augment the case
facts with relevant market information as well as applied knowledge obtained in other business-finance
courses.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:


- Learn important financial management or corporate finance theories and techniques.
- Apply analytical financial techniques to practical financial situations.
- Integrate finance theories and concepts with financial applications on a global basis.
- Understand the security valuation techniques and the associated risk-return tradeoffs.
- Use technology, especially spreadsheets and the Internet, to analyze financial problems.
Learning Outcomes - Understand the global aspects of the financial markets and their implications. Recognize their
ethical and social responsibilities and apply a balanced and rational approach to resolving
ethical business dilemmas.
Develop team-based working skills and ability to communicate the results of a financial analysis of real
world business problems.
