Objective:
Past Simple Tense is used to refer to
actions that were completed in a time
period before the present time. In Simple
Past the process of performing the action
is not important. What matters is that the
action was completed in past. The action
may have been in the recent past or a long
time ago.
When do we use the Simple Past
tense?

We use Simple Past to express the idea that

an action started and finished at a specific
time in the past.
What are some common time
expressions used with the past
tense?
Examples:
I saw Maria yesterday.

Last Friday, the students took their spelling and

vocabulary tests.

They got married two years ago.
