Design The sketch on the second page serves as an example and should be
served as a reference. Variations can be discussed and approved if in
principle meet the beam specification
Technical File A. A list of standards to which the equipment has been made
B. Geometry and mass of the load, including the centre of gravity.
Details of the lifting appliance should be included, such as the size
of the hook, the SWL and the work envelope between the
appliance and the load
C. Design information. Calculations, detailed drawings and
fabrication/welding procedures
D. Material traceability. Details of all materials and assemblies should
be retained in the technical file
E. Test reports – these could be the reports of a load test or a non-
destructive test done on the welds

Documentation A. The name and address of the manufacturer.
B. The name and address of the manufacturers authorised
representative
C. The name and address of the person responsible for compiling the
technical file
D. Description of the equipment, Type, serial number, WLL, self-

G. Health and safety requirements as defined in the directive

Marking A. The name and address of the manufacturer
B. The CE mark
C. The serial number
D. Year of construction
E. Total mass of the assembly
F. Maximum working load in tonnes or kilograms

Lifting points for balancing

There is a difference in the ME Lifting points from 735mm between the AFT and FWD, the FWD is
735mm deeper than the AFT.
