Solution:

Two managerial roles performed by Mr. Akbar at Xertox Pvt. Ltd. are:

1. Negotiator:

Mr. Akbar demonstrated the role of a negotiator when he called a meeting with the
Managers of the HR and Finance departments to address the internal conflict regarding the
demand for additional manpower. He took the initiative to mediate between the two managers
and find a solution that would satisfy both parties. By asking the HR manager to revisit the
demands and reduce the number of employees due to financial constraints, he effectively
negotiated a compromise and settled the conflict.

2. Leader:

Mr. Akbar showcased the role of a leader by recognizing the need for technological
advancement in the company. After conducting market research and comparing with competitors,
he identified the importance of investing in the upgrade of the company's system to increase their
customer base. By extending the external network and improving communication between peers,
subordinates, and superiors, he displayed leadership skills in driving change and promoting a
positive work environment. His actions resulted in better working relations and positive
outcomes within a span of two years.

Justification:

Mr. Akbar's negotiation skills and ability to mediate between conflicting departments
demonstrate his role as a negotiator. By finding a compromise that addresses financial constraints
while settling the conflict, he effectively managed the situation and promoted harmony within
the organization.

Additionally, his vision for technological advancement and his efforts in extending the
external network and improving communication highlight his role as a leader. By recognizing the
need for change and taking proactive steps to improve the company's systems, he displayed
leadership qualities that positively influenced the organization's performance and work
dynamics.

Therefore, through his negotiation and leadership roles, Mr. Akbar played a crucial part in
