Public speaking 2023

Good morning everyone and welcome to my presentation. Let me start by expressing

my gratitude to you all for attending today. My name is..................., and I will be
speaking to you today on "The Effect of Climate Change on Students."

Ladies and gentlemen,

"Climate change" refers to a long-term change in the world's weather and

temperature patterns brought on by both natural and human activity. Since the 19th
century, human activity has been the main cause of this shift in the elements, leading to
remarkable alterations in the weather and temperature that have a negative impact on
people, animals, and plants. Here, I'd like to focus on the effect of climate change on
students.

When extreme weather events destroy crops and lead to higher food prices,
vulnerable families struggle to maintain nutritious diets. Poor diets and child malnutrition
can have severe long-term consequences, affecting physical growth, cognitive skills,
and progress in school. Additionally, parents and guardians become less and less able
to give their kids the nutrition they need to grow and develop. As a result of their poor
nutrition, many pupils, especially in underdeveloped nations, are becoming
malnourished.

Apart from that, due to the climate change, many schools have become
unfavourable for learning. Classrooms and lecture halls are constructed in accordance
with the local climate and weather patterns. However, most of these designs and
buildings are becoming non-conducive due to increased flooding, drought, and heat
waves. The damage to infrastructure and facilities makes learning highly inconvenient
or even impossible. Therefore, students and their teachers are left to find appropriate
ways of managing the situation.
In addition, the conditions for learning are less conducive, which makes it difficult
for children to concentrate in class. As they struggled with the absence of positive
learning surroundings, this would have a significant impact on the education of the kids.
When comprehension and retention levels diminish over time, students' educational
experiences become less effective.

Ladies and gentlemen,

In conclusion, climate change is a problem that can greatly affect the lives and
education of students. It can make schools unsuitable for learning, and reduce the
quality of education. Additionally, due to climate change and the difficulties it brings,
many learners are becoming malnourished, which leads to further health issues.
Without a doubt, this issue has become one of the biggest challenges of this generation.
If not proactively handled, the consequences could be devastating for humanity.
