you read or heard, film you viewed, or personal experience you encountered where the characters
involved left you an inspiring message and technique on dealing with negative emotions. Create a table
and write atleast three negative emotions and the techniques used to handle them.

Turning Red.

Mei Lee is a self-assured, nerdy 13-year-old torn between becoming her mother's obedient daughter
and navigating the perils of adolescence. Ming, her devoted, if not a little pushy mother, is never far
away from her daughter, which is an awful situation for the adolescent. And, as if the changes to her
interests, relationships, and body weren't enough, she "poofs" into a gigantic red panda anytime she
gets too excited, which is almost always. What I really learned in this movie is that I really need to open
up my emotions and not suppress them. Suppressing emotions will not fix the problem but rather it will
help the problem grow and create more problems in the future. For example, if I’m sad, just cry and
move on and if I’m happy, don’t be too happy. Learning and Control is the key to our emotions.
NEGATIVE Technique used to
Emotions Handle
Rage In the movie “Turning red”, Whenever Mei Lee is
experiencing a high level of positive & Negative
Emotions, She turns into a Big red panda. When
she is raging because of her mother’s rules, She
always thinks about the happy memories with her
friends, In that way, she can keep calm and cancel
herself from turning into a red panda.
Sadness Mei ling devoted her life to serving and doing her
mother's commands, she never experiences to
explore the real world because she doesn’t have
the freedom to explore. With that, sadness comes
her way, she keeps it all inside, and until then she
started to feel it. For her to handle sadness, she
secretly disobeys her mother. She explored her
life together with friends and went outside the
box. The things that she can't do because of
restrictions like listening to a boy band and
attending birthday parties are now done by her.
Overall her technique to sadness is to the things
that make her happy.
Hate In the movie, Mei-Ling started to hate her mother
because his mother is a control freak. Mei has a
crush on a boy and when her mother knew about
it, she instantly sued the boy for doing things to
her child. Mei Ling’s classmates knew what
happened and she got bullied in school. As time
went by, her hatred grows. To suppress the hate,
she secretly escapes from her mother and fakes
her actions. It did not fix her hatred but it grows.
At the end of the movie, her hate for her mother is
fixed just by a simple heart-to-heart talk. She just
explained that they are different, she has to do the
things that she loves but she will not stop loving
and obeying her mother. The family ended up
growing and being open to new ideas.
