A lyric is a poem that expresses personal emotion. it has certain musicality and rhythm to it, and
communicate the poet's feelings through figurative language

It’s characterized by the poet’s thoughts adding colors to it.

An essay is a prose composition that conveys the writer's view about particular subject

An essay is a piece of writing that is written to convince someone of something or to simply inform the
reader about a particular topic. It has a introduction, body and conclusion.

the lyrical essay is form of creative non fiction that combines both prose and poetry

the lyric essay is a new, hybrid form that combines poetry with essay, this form should be taught only at
the intermediate to advanced levels. Even professional essayists aren’t certain about what constitutes a
lyric essay, and lyric essays disagree about what makes up the form. Lyric essays are generally shorter
than other essay forms, and focus more on language itself, rather than storyline. The lyrical essay is a type
of personal essay that combines both prose and poetry. It is often crafted like a prose poem. The writer
uses a series of image or ideas, not narrative or argument, to craft the essay. The image can be of a
person, place, thing, or object. The idea can be anything

The lyrical essay uses a sensory image to craft the essay. the image can be of a person, a place, an object,
an event or memory.
the lyrical essay recreate an experience and evokes emotion in the readers by using sensory details----
description that express the writers sees, hears. smells, tastes, touches, and feels.

Sensory details or imagery. Sensory details are words that stir any of the five senses: touch, taste, sound,
smell, and sight.
For example, rather than saying “She drank the lemonade,” say: “She felt her tongue tingle as she sipped
the frosty glass of tart, sugary lemonade.
The candy melted in her mouth and swirls of bittersweet chocolate and slightly sweet but salty caramel
blended together on her tongue.
