Royal Navy Submarine Service – COVID Response Cell Manager (February 2021 – August 2021)

 Utilised analytical and organisational skills managing and training an evolving team with high turnover
responsible for handling quarantine and testing across 34,000 personnel, ensuring units could deploy.
 Problem-solving and coordinating with stakeholders when logistical challenges arose, prioritised cases
based upon operational aims, communicating with all parties to reach the most satisfactory outcome.
 Ensured operationally sensitive data and time-sensitive requests were escalated to the correct level
to be dealt with expediently.
 Redesigned homepage to aid with streamlining customer enquiries and minimise staff time spent
answering repetitive questions.
 Minimised costs to MOD by integrating multiple small bookings into one, realising economies of scale.
 Voluntarily aided in development of future submarine design accounting for female crew.

Royal Navy Submarine Service – Navigating Officer (October 2020 – January 2021)

 Under exceptional circumstances selected by the CEO to be promoted to Navigator early, ensured the
submarine was manoeuvred to successfully meet strategic aims of the deployment.
 Deployed on an international patrol, supervising more than 3000 miles of dived navigation, co-
ordinated personnel in high-pressure environments to ensure tactical and strategic aims were met at
the highest standard.
 Analysed information from internal and external stakeholders, presented and made
recommendations to the CEO to meet strategic aims.
 Assisted subordinates in becoming educationally qualified for promotion, responsible for advocating
and approving the budget for extra-curricular learning throughout the submarine, seeing an 8%
increase in uptake of courses during the tenure.
 Line manager and reporting officer for 12 subordinates, coaching and successfully recommending for
promotion three in particular who excelled among their peers.
Royal Navy Submarine Service – Casing Officer (December 2019 – September 2020)

 4-month operational training period with an unpractised crew, gaining Basic Submarine Qualification
3 weeks ahead of schedule, allowing for early progression.
 Supervised in excess of 60 safety-critical seamanship tasks with no incidents; trained the next Casing
Officer during a busy operational period.
 One of seven crew members to receive Royal Navy Herbert Lott Award for Efficiency, awarded for
continued exceptional standard of Health and Safety implementation in challenging sea state.
 As assistant Diversity and Inclusion Officer, trained crew, and managed sensitive cases in a restricted
environment where delicate handling was of the utmost importance for maintaining crew morale.
 Acted as CEO’s sole representative in port, supervising team of 30 duty personnel in the daily
operation of a £4bn submarine, managing risks and prioritising where work conflicted.

Royal Navy General Service – Second Officer of the Watch (February 2016 – November 2019)

 Served on 4 warships in a professional training role in UK and international waters.

Holiday Let Owner and Manager (September 2019 – Present)

 Sourced, financed, furnished, and let a holiday cottage in a central location close to the Lake District
aimed at middle-class families and walkers holidaying domestically.
 Manage all aspects including pricing, bookings, arranging maintenance, paying staff, and ensuring
legal, safety and quality standards are met.
 Negotiated terms in 2020 with a new intermediary for the peak season, following poor service from
the previous provider, resulting in average guest ratings increasing from 3.4 to 4 out of 5.
 Applied flexible pricing and used multiple hosting platforms to increase exposure, resulting in a 4%
increase in profit in the off season for 2021.
 Utilised lockdown period as an opportunity to schedule maintenance and improvements, therefore
maximising occupation and revenue after lockdown easing.
