My dearest friend

My dearest friend's full name is Dinh Thi Thu. She is tall and beautiful with a
round face. We first met each other when we entered high school. We were
classmates during our three years in high school. There were 45 students in my
class, but I only liked to talk with Thu because we sat next to each other and she
was very friendly. We shared our hobbies as well as our problems. Thu and I
had many things in common, especially our hobbies. We both liked reading
books, cooking, playing with cats and singing. Moreover, we also liked studying
Math, Chemistry and Biology. Although we are now studying in two different
universities, we often visit each other. I feel very lucky when having a friend
like Thu. She encourages me a lot, gives me many useful advices and shares
everything with me in life. Because we study the same major, we can also
discuss and exchange much knowledge. I don't feel home sick when being away
from home because Thu helps me to overcome all difficulties in my life. I love
Thu so much. We will be the best friends forever.

My last summer holiday

My last summer holiday was one of my longest holiday, and I think that I learnt
how to spend the time. I enjoyed a lot with my family, and I met new people
too. The first place I visited was Quang Binh. I went there with my parents and
my sister. We stayed there for four days, and it was really interesting. When I
saw the forest, I opened my eyes the most I could. The air there was very fresh.
I felt like a little girl again. Next, I was in Nha Trang. Nha Trang is very famous
for its beautiful beaches. We were on the beach for some days. We did not visit
other places, we were there just to rest. Luckily, the weather was very fine
during our holiday in Nha Trang. After those days, we came back to Hanoi. I
felt ready for a new school year. My last summer holiday was really
unforgettable.
Describe about Hanoi

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam. It is famous over the country as well as over the
world for its beauty, history and culture. I have been living and studying in
Hanoi for 2 years. Since I came here, I have visited many places, such as Hoan
Kiem Lake, West Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Thu Le Zoo and some
historical places. These places are very beautiful and become tourist attractions.
The weather in Hanoi is very mild. I like the spring and the autumn in Hanoi the
most because of good weather and beautiful color of trees.t Hanoi is also
famous for its "pho" or noodle which can be found in any stree. More and more
foreigners visit Hanoi every year. This year, there will be a great anniversary
when Hanoi is 1000 years old. I think that Hanoi is always one of the most
beautiful capitals in the world.
My family

There are four people in my family: my parents, my younger brother and I. My

father is 46. He is a worker in a company which is near my house. He likes
talking with his friends or watching TV in his free time. However, my father is
very strict. He teaches I and my brother many things in life. My mother is also
46. She is gentle and kind. She cooks very well. My father, my brother and I
like to eat whatever she cooks. My mother likes listening to classic music. She
usually gives us some useful advices when we have problems. My younger
brother is studying at high school. He is a smart pupil in his class. At home, he
usually helps parents to do the house works. He likes listening to rock music
and plays games on computer. And the last one is me. I am a second year
student in Hung Yen province. I am being trained to be a teacher. After
graduating from university, I want to teach in a school in my hometown. My
family is very important to me. I love my family very much.
Country life Vs. City life

Both country and city have separate advantages and disadvantages. Which place
people prefer to live depends on their hobby and job. The city is noisier than the
country with many restaurants, bars, cinemas, theaters, and parks. In contrast, in
country, there are many hills, green fields, small houses, and peaceful rivers.
However, the country has less companies and factories than big city. City is full
of skyscrapers and vehicles instead of green trees, windy fields and pollute river
like countryside. As a result, it is easy to face up with traffic jam in rush hour
and polluted air with smoke from factories in the noisy areas. Obviously, it
causes more bad impact for people living in the city than ones living in
countryside.
The last thing but the most important thing is that there are more opportunities
of job in city than in hometown. Logically, many youths leave from their small
towns to big cities for bright uture. It is a public phenomenon in developing
countries such as Vietnam - my country. In countryside, workforce is both
lacking and unwell-trained. On the other hand, in big city, many people are
unemployed due to their lack of ability to meet the job requirement.
In conclusion, city life is appropriate for young and healthy people; countryside
life is good for the rest. On the other hand, in my opinion, it is necessary to have
a balance between city and countryside. In addition, despite of disadvantages
and advantages of the big city, I would like city life than country life.
