Pollution

Pollution is the destructio or degradation of an ecosystem or the biosphere by the

introduction, generally human, of entities (physical, chemical or biological), or of radiation altering
the functioning of this ecosystem 1 . Pollution has significant effects on health and the biosphere,
as evidenced by exposure to pollutants and global warming which is transforming the Earth 's
climate and its ecosystem, leading to the appearance of diseases hitherto unknown in certain
areas. geography, migrations of certain species, even their extinctionif they cannot adapt to
their new biophysical environment .

The Growth of the Waste Stream Today's generation have been taught to
be wasteful. We produce enormous quantities of waste, then try to bury
it or burn it and forget it. But it cannot be forgotten. It washes up on our
beaches, it reappears as air pollution, it creeps into our water supply; it
comes back to haunt us. A throw-away society is not a sustainable
society. A garbage crisis is at hand. As a nation, we have begun to worry
that the growing.

There are different types of pollution like air pollution, land

pollution, water pollution, noise pollution etc. The presence of
hazardous substances in the atmosphere, which are largely created by human
activity, causes air pollution. It can also occur as a result of natural events such as
dust storms, volcanic eruptions, and wildfires, which wreak havoc on the air quality.
Water pollution is means the presence in groundwater of toxic chemicals and biological
agents that exceed what is naturally found in the water and may pose a threat to human health
and/or the environment. Additionally, water pollution may consist of chemicals introduced
into the water bodies as a result of various human activities. Any amount of those chemicals
pollutes the water, regardless of the harm they may pose to human health and the
environment. and pollution occurs when trash, compost, and other toxins are dumped on the
land, contaminating or polluting it. Land pollution is caused by human activities such as littering
and waste washed ashore from boats, oil rigs, and sewage treatment plants.

Pollution prevention is major global attention because of its devastating effects on people’s
health and the environment. As we are all inhabitants on Earth. So everyone is a stakeholder,
and every person has something to contribute to advance effective pollution prevention and
awareness. Environmental protection is a natural extension of caring for ourselves, loving our
children, and securing a sustainable future for generations to come.Every action or inaction of
any person affects the environment—be it good, neutral, or negative. By becoming aware and
doing the right thing, we want to be part of the solution. Some things that you can do mention
below: Use Eco-Friendly Transportation.Drive an electric or hybrid car, or at least prefer one
that uses unleaded gasoline.Keep your car in good running condition to avoid
discharges.Share a ride or carpool. If possible, choose to walk or ride a bicycle
whenever.Dispose of Waste ResponsiblyNever use open fires to dispose of waste, mainly
chemicals, and plastic.Adopt the 3 R’s of solid waste management that are reduced, reuse,
and recycle.Use sustainable, enhanced, or recycled building materials.Start composting
leaves and clippings from your yard and food scraps from your kitchen to decrease waste
while improving your soil.Take care to well dispose of your pet’s waste.Adopt Renewable
Sources of Energy
As a conclusion, pollution can be managed by collection, removal, processing,
and disposal of materials considered waste" (Ecolife Dictionary). Waste can
be put into landfills, incinerated, recycled, or composted. The most
sustainable way to manage waste is to recycle and compost. Every individual,
society and government should behave responsibly and sensiblygkvjhm to
prevent pollution.
