STRATEGIC SEGMENT 3.

Escorts
Resolve Detection and Movement for each Escort in any order

Surface U-Boat: Detection Range: 0-2
Supply Ships (Area): Refit: -2 Stress to U-Boat.
Submerged U-Boat: Detection Range: 0-1
Intelligence (Area): Contact: +2 modifier.

Priority R&R (Port): -4 Stress to all U-Boats at Port
• Reveal detecting Escort (if unrevealed)
Adv. Torpedoes (Port): 1/2 SO per FAT/T5 Torpedo
• After 1942: First Detection attempt by Escort:
Special Missions: Draw 1 Tactics counter and add to Escort.
Mine (Port): Replace Torpedoes with Mines • Roll die on Escort´s Detection rating (per U-Boat in range).
Attack (fit): May conduct Special Attack +1 per Alerted counter
Raider (fit): May conduct Raider Attack -1 Escort has Light Damage
-2 Escort has Heavy Damage

OPERATIONS SEGMENT • Result ≥ Detection rating:

1. Move U-Boats (unfit must move towards closest Port)

1. Determine # of Contacts: Roll a die, check Contacts table. • Escort Convoy Areas or Medium Range Area:

-2 per U-Boat Warning Counter in Area Move to random Medium Range Area.

2. No Contact: Place U-Boat in Searched box. Aggressive U-Boats attack (except submerged with Periscope damage)
Start new Tactical Segment with next U-Boat. 1 Torpedo Attack:

4. Place U-Boat Warning counter (max. 1 per Area) • Declare all targets and (ready) Torpedo distribution.
5. Draw Convoy Card (Contact counter -1), don´t resolve conditions. • Reveal ships outside of range being attacked by the U-Boat.
Draw 2, keep 1 if Air Search in Area • Roll per target, roll 1 die per Tropedo.
6. Optional: Retreat: go to Post-Combat Resolution Phase. -1 Per range Area away from Target
7. Tactical Set-Up: Place Battle Location counter +1 Target has Heavy Damage
Set-up Ships on Tactical Display per the Convoy card +X Torpedo Spread - (# Torpedoes – 1)
Infiltrator U-Boats may set-up in Long, Medium and Short Range. +Y U-Boat Torpedo Skill (TS)
8. Draw Convoy Card: Resolve special conditions. Apply highest result(s) only (multiple highest results apply).
9. Set-up U-Boat on Tactical Display T5 Torpedo Attacks (if loaded):
10. Form Wolfpacks: • Only against Escorts. Resolve normally.
Purchase Radio Call (SO): U-Boats join automatically, or +2 T5 Torpedo bonus
Roll on Wolfpack table.
Modifier: -2 Attacked counter. FAT Torpedo Attacks (if loaded):
11. Reveal unknown ships in range 0-2. • Only against Convoy or Naval groups with 2+ ships.
• Randomly determine target ship (no Escort).

• Change between surfaced or submerged +Y U-Boat Torpedo Skill (TS)

• Reveal unknown ships in range 0-2.
2 U-Boat Gun Attacks (max. 1 per U-Boat per turn)
Optional: Silent Running (only detected submerged U-Boats):
• Surfaced U-Boat (except if Gun damage)
Place Silent Running counter. Lag Movement speed = 0.
• Range: 0-2.
Roll die: d10 ≤ Evasion: remove Detected counter.
• Use 1 Ammo. Roll die:
d10 > Evasion: + 2 Stress. Cannot attack this turn.

• Choose Reference Ship: +X U-Boat Gun Skill (GS)
Merchant, Lone, Naval (Escort if no other) with highest speed

U-Boat Speed is printed Speed down to 0 (your choice). 4 Apply damage to the Target:

Go to Refit Segment when complete.

REFIT SEGMENT
Stunned: Add stunned counter. 1. Promote U-Boats
Cannot attack till end of next turn • Promote, based on U-Boats Experience Points
4 Stress: +1 Stress • Check and adjust Stress Status
• Lose Experience Points used for Promotion
2. Fleet and Escort Carriers Attack 2. Patrol Limits
• Targets random surfaced U-Boat, any range. • Remove U-Boats that reached Patrol limit from play

• If there are still U-Boats and Ships on the Tactical Display: 4. At Sea Check:
Repeat Combat Resolution Phase • If Campaign is not over, and no U-Boats are at Sea: -2 VP
• If not, go to Post-Combat Resolution Phase 5. Port Restock (U-Boat at Port only):
• Reload gun ammo (6)
POST-COMBAT RESOLUTION PHASE • Reload Torpedoes (Ready and Stored)
