almost all the citizens are working for
IT companies, so every individual has

living there?
I’m a shymkente born and bred, so i've
lived here all my life. I’ve never thought
about leaving my hometown because my
entire social circle is there and the cost
of living is pretty low. However, I also
want to work in a different city for a few
years to broaden my horizons.

changed over the years?
Since I was a child the town has almost
doubled in size and population. It used to
consist of just one main street, but now
there are many new housing
developments and apartments.
Do you think you will
continue living there for a
long time?
I’m not sure. But I don’t think I would
rule out living in the another country.
Maybe when I’m ready to settle down, I
could move abroad and enjoy another
culture and meet new people. It’s really
hard to tell where life will take me. I
might want to just keep living in the city.

feel more open with friends and close people. I really
enjoy their great cozy atmosphere which lets me feel at
