As a part of the PEAC requirements on the area of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessments, we
are glad to inform you that we have found the Achievement of Competencies and Excellence
of Students (ACES) pen-and-paper assessment by REX suitable to provide our learners with a
standardized assessment including diagnostic/pre-test, and post-test in Science to help us assess
the attainment of the standards and competencies in the K to 12 Curriculum including the 21 st-
century skills for the upcoming Academic Year 2023-2024 for the Science High School learners.

The selection was based on the criteria shown below as presented during their presentation and
proposal.

K-12 Compliant The content is based on DepEd’s Curriculum Guide, which captures
attainment of content and performance standards and stated learning
competencies
P21 Skills Aligned The tools are designed to integrated the assessment of the 21 st century skills
such as critical and creative thinking and communication skills including
P21 literacies and global themes
Outcome-Based The target learning outcomes are represented by the highest level of
cognitive behavior, knowledge and understanding that are considered
essential in real-life situations and context
Holistic Assessment covers cognitive and non-cognitive traits of an individual
Assessment learner. The Cognitive assessment is based on the Revised Bloom’s
Taxonomy for Cognitive Behavior and the Structure of the Observed

Learning Outcomes. The non-cognitive assessment includes students’

attitude, interest, and other affective traits.
Differentiated The scoring responses vary in weight as it acknowledges the growth
Scoring mindset principles where efforts and complexity of answers are valued and
rewarded
Developmental The assessment provides appropriate and generous feedback based on the
Feedbacking learner’s level of performance or mastery of targeted competencies

As per the proposal, Rex Assessment has offered ICA an exclusive SRP of 175 PhP per test with
a total of 350 PhP for the Science subject including the pre-test, and post-test assessment for
each student.
