I. Define the following:
1. Health
- It is the physical and mental state of wellness of the human body. It is the
absence of the disease or illnesses inside of the human body. Particularly,
describes the well-being of a person.
2. Fitness
- It is the capability of being physically strong and healthy. Being carry out daily
tasks with strength without excessive tiredness and have energy to enjoy
leisure time. It is also can be an activity to keep the body strong, especially
through exercise.
3. Nutrition

- The process of eating or taking food into the body and absorbing the nutrients
of the food taken. Nutrition is essential for the growth, development and health
of the human body. Intaking the nutrients of carbohydrates, fats, fiber, protein,
vitamins and minerals for the nourishment of the human body.

4. Balance diet
- It is eating food in appropriate quantities and portions of foods needed to
sustain the health and growth of the human body. It is a nutritional need for the
human body by eating a certain fair amount of food. Including go, grow and
glow foods. Mainly consumption of vegetables, fruits, meat and bread or rice.

5. Disease
-
A disordered or flawed malfunction of human organ or part of the body resulting
from the effect of inherited or developmental infections nutritional imbalance, or
negative environmental factors. Likewise, illness or sickness. It interferes with
to human biology function processes, caused by infective bacteria, germs,
viruses, pests, etc. It affects to the people, animals, or plants.
II. Briefly discuss the importance of studying health
➢ Studying health helps empower individuals or communities to live healthier lives
by improving their physical, mental, emotional and social health. Increasing
knowledge and awareness can help to improve quality of life and well-being.
For this reason, we can help others too to care for their own welfare. It also
develops their protection against potential hazards especially nowadays that
pandemic is still going on. We must be at least, well-informed and educated to
the importance of safeguarding our health. Being extra careful, eating healthy
foods, drinking vitamins and exercising can help to minimize the possible
infection of the COVID-19 virus.

III. Enumerate the following:

the body

IV. Discussion

How do the following agents carry disease germs? Explain briefly.


a. Man

- Carrier infectious disease and germs because of direct and indirect contact to
many people surrounding to him and the objects she/he interacted outside.
When you interacted with a person outside even if he/she looks fine, he/she still
carries the germs and viruses in his body. Especially when you physically
interacted with a person, you might catch the virus or germs. Even if he/she
does not show symptoms of sickness, there’s a chance you might catch. The
objects he borrows or handed to you is possibly have germs and virus. It’s best
to sanitize if necessary, to communicate.

b. Water
- It is a can be also a carrier of germs and virus because of possible water
contaminations. Water can also have the disease by using the water bottles,
mugs, glass and utensils of a sick person. Drinking also from unsafe water
sources especially in polluted streams, lakes, rivers, and brooks. It will definitely
lead to extreme ailments and infections.
c. Food

- It can be a contagious carrier also when food unhygienically cooked especially


when the food isn’t cleaned or cooked properly. Street foods can be an example
because usually street foods, you don’t know if the street food vendor is tidy
and if the food is uncontaminated. You don’t see the process of how the vendor
prepares the food exactly. It’s important to consider the cleanliness of the food
handled to avoid getting germs, viruses and disease.
I. Define the following:
a. Drugs
- Chemical substance that is used as a medicine. It can be naturally made
chemical that is taken for satisfaction, to improve someone's performance of an
activity, or because a person cannot stop using it. Drugs can be used for
medicinal purposes. Yet some drugs can be used illegally for someone’s
addiction. Drugs be positive in the legal medicinal way and it can be seen also
negatively illegal when it promotes to ruining someone’s life and well-being.
b. Drug abuse
- The use of chemicals for the purpose of creating pleasurable effects on the
brain. It is the excessive use of illegal drugs. Misusing drugs for purposes other
than those for which they are meant to be used. In other words, it is like drug
addiction. People that do drug abuse usually falls into the category where
people do criminal activities.

E. 19-26 What you can do as a NSTP student to prevent
drug abuse
➢ Advocate the anti-use of illegal drugs and do the righteous ways of avoiding
illegal drugs.
➢ Have fruitful knowledge about the bad effects of usage of illegal drugs.
➢ Engage in recreational activities and have a healthy lifestyle.
➢ Avoid negativity and pessimistic mindset.
➢ Prevent involving myself to people with bad influences involving drugs.
➢ Surround myself to positive people around me especially professionally
inclined that will influence me greatly.
➢ Teach ways also to youth and support the idea of anti-drug addiction.
➢ Be hopeful and have faith to Lord God, spread his Divine words and teaching
to the youth.
