Paper presentations

You will be responsible for presenting two papers related to your research.
Presentations will follow the PechaKucha format: 20 slides, 20 seconds each.
A powerpoint template is available on Canvas.

Your talk should be organized around the following major sections

- Question
o What is/are the research question/s being addressed?
o What is the general significance of this question (why is it being asked in the
first place?)?
o Any hypotheses stated by the researchers?

- Background
o What do prior studies have to tell us about possible answers to this question?

- Data
o What kind of data are collected/analysed?
 Observational (corpus) data?
 Intuition (constructed examples)?
 Experimental data (reaction times/accuracy, etc.)?

- Procedure
o How will the data be collected?
 Experimental procedure?
 Description of data extraction from corpora?
 Any constraints on inclusion of intuition-based examples?

- Results
o How were the data analyzed?
o What were the results of this analysis?
o (just plain results here – no interpretation yet!)

- Discussion
o What do the results mean?
o Any consequences for theory or methodology?
o How do these findings relate to your research question?
