Description of Software: This tool allows for users to create podcasts where they can create, learn,

Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s): (Which level(s) will this lesson meet using this technology tool?)
Please put an X in the box or next to the level(s). Do not highlight or bold the response.
How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
(Sometimes only one option will apply. Please do not highlight your response, put an X in the box
or an X without the box)
☒ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.
☒ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.
☐ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
Students will create a podcast using Spotify for Podcasters. Students will be put into groups of 3
and will have to research their topic before beginning to record. Each group will receive one of the
sub standards above. Students will utilize this technology by recording their voice while having a
discussion on the topic given to them. The teacher will listen to each podcast to make sure the
students have met the criteria for this assignment. Feedback will be provided to students before,
during, and after the assignment. This lesson will be concluded by sharing all podcasts to the class
to teach each other the other topics that they did not get.
Managing student learning: This tool may help students become more expressive as there will be
discussion on the topic they got. Every student will have to actively participate in the podcast.
There will be a time limit for working with partners to ensure all given time is used wisely.
Students must create a script before beginning their podcast.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
This activity allows for students to express their thoughts and put their thinking heads together to form and
record a discussion. Students are encouraged to ask question amongst one another on the podcast to further
engagement between group members.
Reflection: I feel this activity will impact student learning because it allows them to talk and
express themselves and their ideas, while also learning a new topic. It allows them to interact with
their peers as they usually would, while still learning. I really think allowing student to create
podcasts keeps them up to date with technology in today’s society.
