Explanation: according to the data collected by the ministry of health and sanitation it shows

that there have been a lot of deaths in the Makari Gbanti chiefdom, but the specific area that is

most affected with death cases is Batkanu, the disease has spread outrageously in Batkanu

because the community lack health facility and there are no health educators to educate them

about the preventive measures.

Issue #2: Malaria in Kamakwie (Makari Gbanti Chiefdom)

Data Points (And where you collected them): This data was collected by local health workers

in partnership with the ministry of health and sanitation in Sierra Leone. The data shows that

320.4 cases are registered for malaria treatment in Government hospital at the Kamakwie

town. 112 death cases were also on this data that was collected.

Explanation:

The rate of positive cases is too high because of lack of bed nets and insecticide mosquito

killers. People with malaria often experience fever, chills, and flu like illness. Most of the

affected persons die because some develop severe complications and die. The ministry of

health and sanitation together with Non- Governmental Organizations are working, planning

and putting things in place to see that the people in this community have good and effective

medical treatment, and to also supply the community members with Bed nets and insecticide

mosquito killers.

Data Points (And where you collected them): the data was gathered by the Regional Hospital

health workers in Makeni City.
