QUESTION 1

A star Network Topology is a good option for this organization where management employees
are connected directly to the main hub while other employs are connected to a second-tier
network switch. In here, all devices in the network are connected to a central hub or switch,
providing a single point of control and management.

Table: key
1 CEO Chief Executive Officer
2 CFO Chief Officer
3 COO Chief Operating Officer
4 CCM Call Center Manager
5 PSM Procurement and Supplies
6 IAM Internal Audit Manager
7 LG Legal Counsel
8 E 4mloyees

Rationale
The star topology is a simple design that is easy to implement and manage. It provides good
performance and scalability, making it popular choice for a small to medium-sized networks. In this
specific scenario, the star topology allows management employees to have direct access to critical
resources, while other employees can be can be connected to a second-tier switch that provides
sufficient capacity for their needs.

Pros

 Simplicity; The star topology is a simple design that is easy to implement and manage.
 Performance; It provides good performance as each device has a dedicated connection to the
central hub or switch.
 Scalability; It is scalable, as addition devices can be added to the network by connecting them to
central hub or switch.
 Reliability; It provides good reliability, as failure in one device do not affect the rest of the
network.
 Security; It provides good security, as each device has a dedicated connection to the central hub
or switch, which can be secured with access control policies.

Cons

 Single point of failure; The central or switch is a single of failure in the network so redundancy
measures must be taken to ensure continuity of operation in case of failure.
 Cost; It may require additional network hardware, such as switches and cabling, which increase
the cost of the network infrastructure.
 Limited Range; It has a limited range, as divides must be located within the reach of the central
hub or switch.
