Configure Device
Click the “Config” button on the toolbar or double-click the selected device in the device list,
yacer-DMS pops up the configuration dialog. According to the interface and function, the dialog
divides the configuration items into several configuration pages.
The bottom of the dialog box includes the following operation buttons:
Button Function
Open the configuration file, read the configuration parameters refresh the
configuration dialog
Export configuration parameters from the configuration dialog to a file for
saving
Write the configuration parameters in the dialog to the deivce, and restart
the device to make the configuration take effect

Forwarding Configuration
The “Forward” configuration page configures the forwarding relationship between MVB and
UART interface. The default is enable.
MVB-UART with PD source port is configured to receive PD data from the host computer through
UART, and then refresh to the MVB interface buffer. When the PD master frame is received
from the MVB interface, MVB-UART sends slave frame to response, which contains the latest
data in the buffer.
MVB-UART with PD sink port is configured to receive PD slave frame from the source of MVB
bus, and then refresh to send buffer of UART. According to the forwarding configuration of MVB-
UART, the PD data is sent to the host computer actively or passively after the pull command
from the host computer.
As shown in the following figure, MVB-UART is connected with the host computer through the
extended interface.
PD Data
Serial MVB MVB Frame
Host UART MVB-
Port Pull Command Interface
Computer UART
When the MVB-UART UART interface receives the MVB data pull command issued by the host
computer, it can passively send the process data requested by the command to the UART, which
is called the pull mode.
When the UART works in RS-485 half duplex mode, if MVB-UART configures both PD source
port and sink port, both MVB-UART and host computer have data sent to RS-485 bus. In this
case, if the active transmission is based on the PD forwarding cycle, the transmission operation
of MVB-UART and host computer may occur simultaneously, resulting in bus conflict. In order
to avoid conflicts, the PD forwarding cycle can be set to 0. MVB-UART does not take the initiative
to send, and only passively sends after receiving the pull command from host computer.
When the UART works in the RS-232/422 full-duplex mode, the sending and receiving
operations of the UART interface can be carried out at the same time without conflict. The MVB
can be transferred to the serial port by periodic active sending or pulling mode.
