Question 1:

The provided pie charts compare water consumption for three different purposes in six parts
of the world: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and Southeast
Asia.

Overall, it can be seen that agriculture requires the most amount of water in all areas, except
North America and Europe. Furthermore, with the exception of South America, the least
amount of water is allocated for domestic use.

Water usage trends in Africa, Central Asia and Southeast Asia bear striking resemblance.
Agricultural use comprises the largest proportions, registering at 84%, 88% and 81% in
Africa, Central Asia and Southeast Asia, respectively. On the other hand, industrial and
domestic use each makes up less than a tenth of the total amount. Regarding South
America, the dominant sector is also agriculture, accounting for 71%, while the lowest
percentage belongs to domestic consumption (10%).

Moreover, North America and Europe share similar patterns in the way water is distributed.
For both regions, approximately half of the amount of water is allocated for industrial use
while only around 15% is used for the least demanding sector, domestic use.

Question 2:
The maps illustrate how the coastal village of Seaville had changed from 1980 to 2010.

In general, Seaville had undergone several changes, including the establishment of new
facilities at the expense of natural features, transforming it into a commercial area.

The west region of the village witnessed major changes. The woodland, located on the
upper right hand side of the map, was converted into a golf course. South of the woods, the
marsh was demolished and the holiday cottages were relocated to the east bank to make
way for permanent houses. Furthermore, the main road that divided the village branched out
to connect the two regions.

On the east side of Seaville, numerous modifications were made. The erection of a
retirement village and a boat club took place along the west bank of the river. Adjacent to the
club is a hotel constructed on the ground where the sand dunes were previously. Moreover,
the tea room that stood next to the dunes was replaced with a restaurant.

Question 3:
The bar chart delineates the usage of water, electricity and gas per month at an
entertainment facility in Manchester. Overall, there are significant fluctuations witnessed in
all three sectors over the months. Furthermore, the amount of water used is substantially
higher than that of gas.

Regarding water consumption, the figure starts at around 4.3 in the first month, after which it
varies between 3.5 and 4.5 for the next 4 months. Next, it climbs steadily and peaks at 5.5 in
August. However, the rest of the year sees a gradual decline in the amount of water used.
In terms of electricity usage, the number tops at 5.3 in January, but then plummets to its
lowest point of 2.5 in July. Yet, the figure begins picking up before registering just below 5 in
December.

With regards to the volume of gas used, the figure commences at 4 in the first month then
reaches its highest mark of approximately 4.5 the next month. Subsequently, a noticeable
plunge is observed as the figure reaches its bottommost point of 2.5 in June, followed by a
slow ascent to just under 4 in the last month.
