Important notice – FAO Offer-holder

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (“Central”) requests that you (“the offer-
holder”) provide a financial guarantee of your ability to pay course tuition fees and support
yourself throughout the course of your studies.

This applies to self-funding and sponsored students only (i.e. those not in receipt of a
government loan). This guarantee must be received before confirming your offer of a
place.

If you are not eligible to receive full financial support towards your tuition fees (ie. student
loans), Central requests that you provide details of a guarantor on the form attached.

A guarantor is someone, for example a parent or close relative, who agrees to pay tuition
fees on your behalf in the event that you don't, or can’t, pay.

If you don’t, or can’t, pay Central any fees owed, we will ask your guarantor to pay instead. If
your guarantor doesn’t pay, Central may take action ranging from suspending you from your
course, up to legal action to recover fees owed.

Central may wish to check your guarantor is able to pay the fees in the same way we check
applicants’ ability to pay. For example, submission of bank statements.

There is a legal requirement for a guarantee agreement to be in writing. The agreement sets
out the guarantor's legal obligations.

Please ask your sponsor/employer/parent(s)/guardian(s) to send a letter confirming their

sponsorship, sign this form and return it to admissions@cssd.ac.uk.

You do not need to complete this form if you are receiving a student loan to cover all
of your fees.

Please note: If you cease to be a student at Central, because you withdraw, or because
Central terminates your contract, you may still be liable for any outstanding fees or charges.

academic year. They have nominated you as a person who is willing to guarantee payment
of their course fees. We therefore enclose the Guarantor Form for your signature.
Tuition fees
Fees must be paid by the date specified in the Schedule. Any outstanding amount owed
after this date remains interest-free for the first twelve months, after which a penalty rate of
interest may be charged. Tuition fees are outlined on Central’s website www.cssd.ac.uk
The effect of the guarantee
If the student fails to pay the fees by the payment date, Central may seek payment from the
Guarantor, up to the entire outstanding balance and any accrued interest or charges.
If the student fails to make payments as agreed, both the student and the guarantor will be
notified of the same.
Independent legal advice
Central recommends that you seek independent legal advice before signing the guarantee.
Completing the guarantee
If you are happy that you understand the legal and practical effect of the guarantee and you
are willing to act as guarantor for the student, please sign this letter and the guarantee, and
return it to the Head of Student Admissions, The Royal Central School of Speech and
Drama. We recommend you retain a copy of the Guarantor Form for your own records.

valid driving license, national identity card or birth certificate. We also require proof of
address, which can be in the form of: a council tax letter, a letter from your bank or a recent
utility bill. These documents must be certified using the same coloured ink.
