Sonographic findings alone can not always be considered specific .

In acute abdomen, negative or equivocal diagnostic imaging


finding should be ignored . If clinical sign indicates, surgery should be performed . DAVID SUTTON

1. Inflammed broad (10mm in diameter) vermiform appendix is seen in right iliac fossa.

2. Appendix is seen in both transverse and longitudinal scan in right iliac fossa and
found enlarged + swollen and slightly hypoechoic.
A-P diameter is increased ( 10 mm –Normal < 6.0 mm).
Sonographic macburny’s sign is positive.

3. Liver, both kidneys, gall bladder and biliary tree,


spleen, urinary bladder are seen and found normal.

Others found normal.

Comment : Suggestive of Acute Appendicitis.
