Intro

Hi, I’m Fahad. I’m a Temasek poly graduate with a diploma in mechatronics. I started my career in
semiconductor manufacturing industry by working as an intern in siltronic silicon wafers pvt ltd.
There I worked as a manufacturing operational assistant in the polishing sector. During my time with
siltronic, I amassed basic trouble shooting techniques as well as familiarized myself with shift work
and cleanroom environment. After I completed my internship I joined micron semiconductors as a
manufacturing equipment technologist in the probe department. At micron I was part of the
equipment support team whose mainfocuss was to analyze the computer generated wafer map after
the dye testing was completed and should any failures arise, do troubleshooting to further isolate
the issue as product related, equipment related or probecard related.I was also incharge of analysing
the probecard image and verifying whether they were in specs or not and doing quality assurance on
them. On top of that I assisted the production team regarding regular line issues, clearing alarms,
tool recovery etc. I also did preventive maintenance on equipment’s from time to time.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

weakness

While I excel in managing day-to-day manufacturing activities and problem-solving in real-time, One
area where I have been actively working to improve is my ability to delegate tasks. In the past, I used
to take on a lot of responsibilities myself to ensure they were done correctly and on time. While this
dedication to quality and efficiency has served me well in the past, I've come to realize that
delegating tasks and trusting others to handle them is important for team efficiency and growth. To
address this, I've been actively seeking opportunities to delegate tasks to team members, providing
clear instructions and guidance, and offering support whenever needed. I believe that by continuing
to work on this skill, I can enhance my ability to effectively distribute tasks and foster collaboration
within a team."

I am also mindful of the importance of communication in effective delegation. I have been

working on improving my communication skills by actively listening to others, seeking input,
and providing timely feedback. I believe that open and transparent communication is key to
successful delegation and ensuring that tasks are executed to the highest standards.

Strength

Due to my strong background in wafer manufacturing and equipment trouble shooting, I

believe I possess several strengths that aligns well with this role.
First and foremost, I bring a strong technical expertise in working with manufacturing
equipment and processes. During my tenure at the probe department, I gained
hands-on experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex
machinery. This experience has honed my ability to quickly adapt to different
equipment and systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in a high-tech
manufacturing environment.

Additionally, I have a proven track record in optimizing processes to enhance

operational efficiency. At Micron, I actively sought opportunities to improve
equipment performance, reduce downtime, and enhance productivity. Through my
problem-solving skills and attention to detail, I was able to identify areas for
optimization and implement effective solutions, resulting in increased output and
cost savings.

I also have to add that I do understand the importance of quality assurance.I am well-versed
in following standard operating procedures, conducting thorough inspections etc to
maintain high-quality output. I am committed to upholding the same level of quality
excellence at P&G's Singapore plant.

Lastly, my experience as a manufacturing equipment technician at Micron has instilled in me

the importance of teamwork and effective communication. I collaborated closely with cross-
functional teams, including engineers, operators, and supervisors, to troubleshoot issues,
share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement. I am confident in my ability to work
collaboratively and communicate effectively to achieve shared goals at P&G.

In summary, my background as a manufacturing equipment technician at the probe

department in Micron has equipped me with the technical expertise, process optimization
skills, commitment to quality, focus on safety, and team collaboration capabilities required
for the operations technician role at Procter & Gamble's Singapore plant. I am excited about
the opportunity to bring my skills and contribute to the success of P&G's operations in
Singapore."

Tell me about a time when you created something new.

That’s a good question. In my previous role as a manufacturing equipment technician

at the probe department in Micron, we faced persistent issues with the target camera
system that were causing significant production delays. The previous troubleshooting
methods had been ineffective as they jumped straight to replacing the sensor
without addressing the root cause. This inturn increased the tool downtime by a
margin and affected the overall yield However, I took the initiative to investigate
further and developed a new method that successfully resolved the issue.

Through my analysis and hands-on testing, I discovered that the root cause of the
problem was not a faulty sensor, but rather a misalignment issue and lack of proper
lubrication. The previous methods failed to recognize this, leading to unnecessary
sensor replacements and extended downtime.

To address the root cause, I developed a systematic troubleshooting method that

involved applying white grease to the appropriate areas and manually aligning the
sensor multiple times. This approach effectively resolved the misalignment issue,
restored proper functionality to the target camera system, and eliminated the need
for unnecessary sensor replacements. Devil is in the details.

Implementing this new troubleshooting method yielded significant positive results.

By addressing the root cause of the problem, we experienced a substantial reduction
in production delays related to the target camera system. The application of white
grease and the manual alignment process effectively resolved the misalignment
issue, resulting in improved functionality and accuracy.

As a result, production efficiency significantly increased, leading to cost savings and

enhanced operational performance. By avoiding unnecessary sensor replacements,
we not only saved on equipment expenses but also minimized downtime and
achieved a more streamlined production process.

The impact of this new troubleshooting method was notable, as it reduced overall
operational costs, enhanced equipment reliability, and improved the overall
efficiency of the manufacturing process. Additionally, the method was documented
and shared with the maintenance team, ensuring that the knowledge and solution
were accessible for future troubleshooting instances."

5If you were given a difficult project, how would you ensure its success.

When faced with a difficult project, I believe it is crucial to first understand the scope,
complexity, and potential challenges associated with the task at hand. This context allows for
a realistic assessment of the project's requirements and helps in developing an appropriate
strategy."

I would start by gaining a comprehensive understanding of the process and its objective.

Then I would break it down into manageable tasks or milestones.

After that I would engage in an open communication with my team members and get their
input.
Then I would set clear and measurable goals for each stage of the process.then evaluate
progress and make adjustments etc.

Id make sure to manage the time frame effectively and create a realistic timeline.

Id make sure to maintain detailed documentation for future use.

Ultimately, by employing a structured and proactive approach, I would maximize the chances
of success for a difficult project, ensuring its timely completion, meeting objectives, and
delivering the desired outcomes.

Tell me about a time you worked with others.

Thanks for asking that question. During my major project I was asked to lead a team of 3
people to create an automated recon car using Arduino chip. That actually opened me
towards the responsibilities of leading a team and working together.Being a team leader I
had to sort out the responsibilities and lead by example. I also had to take in account of the
factor that I was working with two individuals with their own mind and quirks and try to
accommodate both of their needs as well. So I kept the communication very transparent and
objective.Needless to say this experience helped me a lot in my future ventures and helped
me develop as a person. This instilled in me the value of team work and fostered leadership
abilities inside me from very early on.
