Bryan Johnson was born in Provo, Utah, on August 22, 1977.

He is the middle child of three

brothers and a sister. After his parents divorced, Johnson lived with his mother and his
stepfather, the owner of a trucking company. At 19, Johnson became a Mormon missionary,
customary for young men in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church),
spending two years in Ecuador.

Johnson graduated with a BA in International Studies from Brigham Young University in 2003
and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2007.

After graduating from business school, Johnson worked as a consultant for McKinsey &
Company. In 2008, he co-founded Braintree, a company that specializes in mobile and web
payment systems for ecommerce companies. Braintree acquired Venmo in 2012 for $26.2
million; the combined entity was acquired by PayPal for $800 million in 2013.

In 2014, Johnson founded Kernel, a company that is developing brain-computer interfaces.

Kernel has raised over $100 million in funding from investors such as Peter Thiel and Jeff
Bezos.

Johnson is also the founder and CEO of OS Fund, a venture capital firm that invests in early-
stage science and technology companies. OS Fund has invested in companies such as Kernel,
Magic Leap, and Altos Labs.

Johnson is a self-described "transhumanist" who believes that technology can be used to

improve human health and longevity. He is spending millions of dollars to try to reverse the
aging process and become 18 again. He has a team of 30 doctors who are helping him with his
quest, and he is following a strict regimen that includes a diet, exercise, and supplements. He is
also using experimental treatments, such as stem cell therapy and gene therapy.

Johnson's goal is to slow down his aging process and eventually reverse it altogether. He
believes that it is possible to live a long and healthy life, and he is willing to do whatever it takes
to achieve that goal.

Johnson's story has been met with mixed reactions. Some people admire his determination and
his willingness to take risks, while others believe that he is wasting his money and his time. Only
time will tell if Johnson will be successful in his quest to become 18 again.
Wife:
Bryan Johnson and his ex-wife, Taryn Southern, were together for three years from 2016 to
2019. They were engaged to be married, but they broke up in 2019.

Southern has accused Johnson of emotional and financial manipulation, and of cheating on her
during their relationship. She has also accused him of trying to control her personal and
professional life.

Johnson has denied all of Southern's allegations. He has said that he loved Southern and that
he was committed to their relationship. He has also said that he is not a cheater and that he
never tried to control Southern.

The couple's relationship has been the subject of much media attention. Some people have
sided with Southern, while others have sided with Johnson. The truth about what happened
between them may never be known.

In 2021, Southern filed a lawsuit against Johnson alleging breach of contract, fraud, and
intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit is still pending.
