I2s - MoE NEI JA - Proposal For Rebuild and Ongoing Support For The NEI Website v1 December 2021
Proposal:
The CMS will be freshly installed with the latest version offered by the CMS provider DotNetNuke
(DNN) - v9.10.2 (version at time of writing). A new database, application folder and IIS site will be
created and established. Website templates will then be loaded to layer the existing design, modules
will be added to provide the required functionality within the CMS and if required, the existing
content will be re-uploaded (optional)
Note: the uploading of content could be undertaken by NEI staff if they so wish.
Innovation 2 solution will provide an update to training materials, and if required, will offer a
training session to content managers within NEI if there is material change to the functionality e.g.
the process of upload and management has changed to such a degree that training materials need to
be fully rewritten and the interface is unrecognisable as a result of the update in CMS version.
For completeness both “Test - UAT (User Acceptance Testing)” and Production will be in scope for
this element of the work.

2. Maintenance Summary
This second part of the proposal is geared around providing the NEI with ongoing website
maintenance to ensure the website is security patched with the latest updates from the CMS
Provider (DNN). Ensuring a website is fully secured with the latest patches ensures any potential
vulnerability is limited. Whilst it’s impossible to truly provide any assurances at 100%; undertaking a
regular update process including Operating System (OS) and application patching offers the best
possible defence against the threat of vulnerability based cyber attacks.
Introducing a monthly controlled maintenance window will ensure the NEI Website is fully security
patched. The maintenance agreement will also cover any remediation work required to existing
functions which are not functioning as before due to the upgrade.
This service would be offered for a period of 12 months, where after the contract will be
renegotiated. Either party will have a 30 day termination notice period.
10 days at $400USD
Note: Service ID 1&2 will be invoiced upon completion and signed off by NEI. Service ID 3 will be
invoiced monthly following completion of each maintenance upgrade each month following
successful update.
All prices quoted will be in United States Dollar (USD) as preferred currency for remuneration.
Please note; there are no anticipated expenses as part of the proposal offer.
