Use Sharebook pages 7, 9, 11, 12.

1 Color in the picture cards on pages 7 and 9. Use only one color per picture.
2 Remove or cover the sample answers and instructions at the bottom of all
Sharebook pages.

Question 1
Teacher: What’s your name?
Student: [Answers will vary.]

Question 2
Show student page 7. Point to an object on the page.
Teacher: What’s this?
Student: It’s a [color] [window].

Question 3
Gesture to page 9. Encourage student to point to a picture. Answer correctly.
Teacher: Now it’s your turn.
Student: What’s this?
Teacher: It’s a [color] [clock].

Question 4
Make student hold page 12 so that you cannot see it. Point to an empty box on page 11. Guess incorrectly
two times. Then guess correctly.
Teacher: Is it a pencil?
Student: No, it isn’t.
Teacher: Is it a backpack?
Student: No, it isn’t.
Teacher: Is it a [2 = ruler, 3 = chair, 6 = pencil case, 7 = pen, 9 = eraser]?
Student: Yes, it is.

Question 5
Point to an empty box on page 12. Show student that you are hiding page 11 so that he/she cannot see it.
Encourage student to ask you about the empty box. Continue until student guesses correctly.
Teacher: Now it’s your turn.
Student: Is it a [name of classroom object]?
Teacher: Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.
