Report on School Library

Introduction

Library is a pivotal place for us to study, read and do our revision. Library is a must in every
school. Today, we are going to write a report about the school library of SMK Taman Rinting 2.

The conditions and How it Can Be Improved

First of all, the condition of the library in SMKTR2 is very clean and comfortable. There are
sufficient books and reading materials to cater to almost 1200 students. However, the condition of
the surrounding is very dim because the old lamps and lightings. There are many broken bulbs and
plugs that are not functioning. A good rewiring is badly needed here. In addition, some broken chairs
needed to be removed and replaced with proper seating like sofas or chairs.

Furthermore, the place should be quiet so that students who use the library can do their
silent readings. However, there are students who are making noise and running around the library
especially when the teachers are not around. The seniors especially the Form 5 students refused to
keep quiet especially when they are told to do so by the junior librarians. This behavior disrupts
other students who are trying to focus on their studies. Strict rules should be implemented so that
the students will not end up to be a public nuisance at the library.

How and Why it should be Upgraded

The library needs more fund from the Parent-Teacher Association to improve the physical
features of the library. The library needs proper wiring and new furniture badly. This will enable
students can do their revisions comfortably especially during the recess and after school. We also
need more senior librarians to be on duty to control the noises from the students. Enough librarians
are also needed to guarantee a systematic arrangement of books in order to make it easier to find
books that we need when we are using the library.

To sum up, immediate actions are needed to improve the conditions of the library as it is
one of the important places for the students to study. I am pretty sure that it will also produce a
good academic result for our school by leaps and bounds.
