Paragraph 1 Not until being on the stage did I realize the common saying among actors that “a

(介紹) minute on stage commands ten years of practice.” Last week at a music festival

held in Victoria Park came my debut performance and our team experienced the

thrills and spills from a live show.

Paragraph 2 1. 標題句

(表演經過) Our band of four has been practising for two years and we finally plucked up

enough courage to participate in the music festival.

2. 表演詳述

Scheduled as the first team to perform, we hurriedly grasped our instruments and

then rushed onto the stage. Being the lead singer, I at times felt being in the

limelight of the show. I was like a deer in the headlights. Facing a large pool of

audience, flashes of cameras and being projected on the large screen, I was

extremely nervous despite the rehearsals beforehand. As soon as I had taken a

deep breath to calm myself down, we set the beat and kicked off the

performance. The song we chose is a common piece from Westlife “My Love”.

3. 觀眾支持

The audience was attentive and to my surprise clapped their hands to the beat

while some even waved their hands. Their active response was like a shot in my

arm and my singing soon resumed the stability I should have. Hurray!

Paragraph 3 1. 標題句

(表演檢討) Our show ended in a groundswell of applause.

2. 表演優點

So touched was I that I got strong support from my buddies. Well, I consider the

performance quite a successful one for a first attempt but of course there is room

for improvement.

3. 表演缺點

You know I hated myself when I found that when my singing dragged behind the

tempo at the beginning. A few words of the lyrics were also not well articulated.

My goodness! I could actually feel the slip of my tongue! The lack of experience

is to be blamed. Fortunately, our band worked in beautiful harmony most of the

time.

Paragraph 4 1. 標題句

(表演得著) Though I had a little lapse, I have actually learnt a lot from the performance.

2. 得著

Given the setting with unavoidable noise, I had to concentrate more during the

performance so that the beat would not be missed. This experience prepared our

band for future performances. We have learnt techniques on the stage ranging

from constant eye contact with the audience as well as the camera to connecting

our instruments to megaphones.

3. 總結句

These are all the things we can’t learn in classroom practices. We have really

gained a great deal.

Paragraph 5 1. 感謝支持

(總結) Last but not least, great thanks to those who came to support us. Without your

support, our show would not have been successful. Though it wasn’t a perfect

performance, we cherished the opportunity to showcase our achievement and

learn through the process.

2. 期望

With our enthusiasm for music and perseverance, we promise you a more

brilliant performance next time!
