ABSTRACT

Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as

physical capacities.” This means that health is a resource to support an individual’s

function in wider society, rather than an end in itself. A healthful lifestyle provides the

means to lead a full life with meaning and purpose.

Hygiene is a series of practices performed to preserve health. According to the World

Health Organization (WHO), "Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to

maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases." Personal hygiene refers to

maintaining the body's cleanliness.

Good personal hygiene involves keeping all parts of the external body clean and

healthy. It is important for maintaining both physical and mental health. In people with

poor personal hygiene, the body provides an ideal environment for germs to grow,

leaving it vulnerable to infection.

This practice includes bathing, washing your hands, brushing your teeth, and more.

Every day, you come into contact with millions of outside germs and viruses. They can

linger on your body, and in some cases, they may make you sick. Personal hygiene

practices can help you and the people around you prevent illnesses.

Better hygiene leads to better health, confidence and overall growth. Good hygiene is

critical for preventing the spread of infectious diseases and helping children lead long,

healthy lives.

Socio-Economic Survey of the Village/Habitation

Graphical Representation of People in the Locality:

 Children are the 2nd major part in the area.

 They are the most sensitive one of getting affected to diseases.
 They can have the greater immunity compared to any other category people.
 Adults are also having the good immunity, they can face to any disease.
 But the senior citizens are weak and their immune system will be reduce as time goes on.
 The rate of getting affected to diseases is higher in case of old people.

39
Problems they are facing in their locality:

PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED IN THE COMMUNITY:

 Lack of awareness on health and hygiene.

 No one is wearing mask.

 Poor drainage system was observed.

 Sewage canals are blocked.

 Water stagnated at drainage.

 More Mosquitoes are observed which may cause Dengue, Maleriaetc.

40
Types of Diseases that are affected by the people:

41
Problems

 Health Food is Expensive

The organic industry has grown rapidly since the year 2000.The term “organic” was first used
in 1941. Every year, more people switch to buying healthy foods, which means that prices go
up and companies’ investment more money into creating health products.

 Healthy Food Isn’t Always Tasty

Many people turn to healthy foods thinking they will lose weight with out much effort, but
that’s not how it works. Even when you eat sauerkraut, you will still need to do sport in order
to achieve your goals

 Healthy Foods Can Easily Become Unhealthy

Ifyou leave banana in the freezer for a few days and the neat it, you’ll understandthat frozen
food doesn’t have to be healthy. On the country,if you cook meat at too high a temperature, it
will lose a lot of its nutritional value. And if you grill our veggies too long, you’ll destroy
many of their vitamins.

 Healthy Food Can Contain Chemicals

Many healthy foods are produced in factors that also process unhealthy foods and the
machinesused to produce them might not be cleaned thoroughly in between runs. In some
cases, this could lead to chemicalcontamination from one product to another, making the
healthy food you eat unhealthily
 Many of them are healthy, but some are sick. According to our report, there is a hospital near
them but it is not so sophisticated
 It would be better if the drainage system is developed in some areas.
 They have to be provided a good ration.
 In an area near police station most of the people are not using LPG.

42
Possible Solutions to These Problems:

 Creating awareness among the people about health and hygiene.

 Most HAIs are preventable through good hand hygiene practices – cleaninghands at the
right times and in the right way.
 Making the drainage system work properly.
 Cleaning the surrounding environments regularly.
 Maintaining all types of hygiene to be healthy.
 The WHO Guidelines on hand hygiene in health care support hand hygiene promotion and
improvement inhealth-carefacilitiesworldwideandarecomplementedbytheWHOMultimodal
hand hygiene improvement strategy, the Guide to implementation, and an implementation
toolkit, which contains many ready-to-use practicaltools.
 The WHO multimodal hand hygiene improvement strategy has beens how nas the most
effective approach leading to practices improvements. Hand hygiene improvement
programmes can prevent up to50% avoidable infections acquired during healthcare
delivery and generate economic savings onaverage16times the cost of implementation.

43
Advantage of health intervention

 FIGHTS DISEASE

Working out and eating right are a powerful duo when it comes to the longevity of health
because it helps the body prevent disease. Health complications such as cancer, diabetes,
or heart failure are all linked to poor health choices and a sedentary lifestyle.

 BUILD CONFINDENCE

We gain a new level of confidence when you work out on a regular basis.
Strength training, walking, running, dancing or swimming may initially
seem troublesome, tiring,or hard for some.

 IMPROVES BRAIN HEALTH AND MOOD

Proper exercise and diet also improve mental health. When you exercise, positivechanges
happen in thebrain.Working out allowsthebodyto circulate blood and oxygen to the brain
more efficiently.

 OPTIMIZES PERFORMANCE OR REDUCE STRESS

You will have more energy when you supply your body with the right fuel and engage in
exercise. Working out as little as few minutes during commercial breaks or for 20 -30
during your lunch improves focus, creativity, and concentration.

 MAINTAIN HEALTH WEIGH

Maintaining a healthy weight is important for overall health and can help you prevent
and control many diseases. If you are overweight, you are at higher risk.

CHAPTER 5: RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS OF THE MINI
PROJECT

After completion of campaign, I made them aware of the health and hygiene in the village.
Village People know some information about diseases, and they knew how to treat diseases and how
to get rid of it.

In that village, people have some issues about water and they have to decide how to resolve
it.So,our solution made them easy to solve the problem.

People are interested to participate in campaign and get knowledge about the health and
hygiene and we had given some suggestions to be healthy. Most of the people haven’t know about
the way to be healthy. All the people in the village are thankful to us for guiding them and made to
be clean and healthy.

Most of the farmers had drainage issues. So, we had made them aware on that problem how to
drain the water and how to avoid it, and they get more information about drainage system.

All the problems in the village are gradually reducing. All the people got safe and healthy
environment. My survey got completed successfully and We concluded our project by thanking
every villager for helping us in survey. All the villagers are happy.Their smiles made us proud of our
work.
