Spelling rules for third person singular (he/she/it) in the present simple
situations, definitions….. never, sometimes, every day, every week, every month,
every year, every 2 years, in the morning, in the afternoon, Most verbs add -s at the end of the verb in infinitive: play---plays, eat--eats, run---runs
in the evening, at the weekend, on Mondays, on Fridays,
Excpetions:
twice a year, since 1998
PRESENT SIMPLE

 Verbs ending in -ch, -ss, -sh, -x and -o: These verbs add -es at the end: watch—watches, miss---
misses, wash---washes, mix---mixes, do---does, go---goes.
 Verbs ending in consonant +y, change the -y into -i and add -es: Study---studies, cry---cries.

Subject + main verb (present)+complements Subj.+ do/does (aux) + not + m.verb (infinitive)+ comp. (QW)+do/does (aux) + subj. + verb (infinit) + compl.?

+ I (you/we/they) drive a car every day - I (You/We/They) do not (don’t) frive a car every day. ¿ (where) do you/we/they drive a car every day?

Use: Actions happening now, at the momento of Adverbs and time expressions: Now, Spelling rules for adding -ing to the verb in present continuos
speaking, temporary actions; actions happening at right now, at the moment, today, this
morning, this afternoon, tonight, in Most verbs add -ing at the end of verb in infinitive: Play-playing, eat-eating, go-going
abour this time but not necessarily at the momento of
this moment, at present, these days,

Verbs ending in single -e, drop it before adding -ing: drive-driving, come-coming
PRESENT CONTINUOS

Short verbs ending in a vowel + a single consonant, double the ocnsonant before adding -ing: sit-sitting, swim-swimming,
eat-eatting.

Stative verbs: verbs of senses (feel, hear, see ….), verbs expressing emotions and feelings (love, hage, like….) and verbs of
mental activity (understand, think….) are NOT normally used in the present continuous.
