These are all old sweaters. These sweaters have holes in the arms, and those
sweaters don’t have any shape. But we can upcycle them, so they don’t go into the
trash. We can use them and make purses. We can cut the arms from the sweater and
use the body. Now, we can use them every day. It’s really easy and it looks cool! Look,

Whose airplane is that?

Some upcycling projects use big objects like trains and planes!

This isn’t a typical airplane. It’s a hotel inside an

airplane. You can eat, sleep, and take a shower!
Inside, we can see a lot of wood, it’s beautiful.
The wood comes from local trees. In the cockpit,
where the pilot usually flies the plane, there’s
now a kitchen! It’s little, but it has a great view.

Some trains are upcycled to make hotels,

too! Each train carriage has a bedroom and a
bathroom. The beds are huge and the bedrooms
are very pretty. Some are made from very old
trains, so you can’t travel on the trains, but it is
like going back in time!
Which hotel would you like to stay in?

1 The airplane is an old train.

2 You can sleep inside the plane.
3 You can travel to different places on the train.
4 The trains are very new and use upcycled beds.

2 Think about other types of transport. Can they be upcycled?
