to the strut. To remove or install an engine, the fan cowls need to be removed to provide access to the forward engine ground handling points. The fan cowls are held in the open position by integral hold-open rods for engine maintenance when the engine is installed on the strut. The forward fairing will need to be removed to gain access to GSE
bootstrap interface points. The forward fairing is held in place by 7 quick release latches allowing easy access to GSE hard points for the bootstrap system. The thrust reverser is made in two halves ("C"-Ducts) which are raised open with integral actuators by a hydraulic pump which must be purchased as Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Once the
"C"-Ducts are open, an automatic lock in the actuators holds each "C"-Duct open. GSE actuator locks provide a backup for the locks in the actuators. When removing an engine, the actuators are disconnected and GSE thrust reverser cowl hold-open rods are the only means of holding the "C"-Ducts open. With the thrust reverser halves held open,
engine removal and installation is accomplished using a "bootstrap" hoisting system. offer secure retainment during long distant hauling of the unit. When rolling engine under the wing, the top of the aft engine mount should not exceed 70.5 inches (179.09 cm) from the ground for ground clearance from the pre-cooler. The transport base unit consists of a frame supported by four dual wheel caster assemblies. Each caster assembly
has a 5 inches (13 mm) wide by 10 inches (25 mm) diameter wheel for easy mobility and a weight capacity of 5000 lbs (2266 kg) each. Shock absorbing polyurethane tread wheels, position locks and face brakes are standard. All four caster assemblies are designed to pin in a retracted position for air/truck transport of the entire unit, with engine. The
towbar stows on the base frame when not in use. The maximum towing speed of the unit is 3 MPH (5Km/h). Built-in shock absorbing mounts cushion all transport movements. EFFECTIVITY 737-600/700/800/900/BBJ/C40A&B CFM PROPRIETARY INFORMATION 71-00-00 Jan. 2003 CFM56-7B TRAINING MANUAL Page 13 ENGINE

in order to comply with the requirements of Appendix III of PART 66 to have the B1/B2 rating on B737-6/7/8 CFM56 aircraft. Any task performed in the frame of this On Job Training (OJT) will have to be signed by the trainee engineer and validated by assessors. This OJT will be performed under the responsibility of one or more B1/B2 qualified
engineers. (See PRE-REQUISIT on page 4/38) After this training, the engineer will be able to: - perform verifications of systems, engines, components and operational functions such as specified in the maintenance manual, - analyse all information in order to make decisions regarding trouble shooting and corrective actions as per maintenance
manual, - describe the component replacement procedures specific to aircraft type. DURATION - Engineer with B1/B2 rating and six month experience on an aircraft with a similar technology: 70 hours(1), - Engineer with B1/B2 rating and less than six month experience on an aircraft with a similar technology: 140 hours(1), - Engineer with no B1/B2
rating on an aircraft with a similar technology: four months. (1)The 70/140 hours do not have to be necessarily performed in a row, but can be extended on a period adapted to operational configuration (availability of aircraft, trainee and assessors). CLASSIFICATION Classifies the importance of a task for the completion of the practical training
record. Following classifications are used: - Mandatory (M): This indicates that the related task is required for completion of the practical training record. - Optional (O): This indicates that the related task is optional. It is recommended to perform at least 70% of those tasks in each ATA chapter. TASKS CODES - FOT: Functional Operational Test(*) -
LOC: Location and identification of system components - MEL: Minimum Equipment List items requiring a maintenance procedure - RIA: Removal Installation Activation - SGH: Servicing Ground Handling - TPR: Thorough Procedural Review - TVC: Carry out Thorough Visual Check (*) If ground power or other applicable systems are unavailable a TPR
will be carried out in place of a FOT. performance of representative tasks and their assessment, in order to meet the following objectives: a) Ensure safe performance of maintenance, inspections and routine work according to the maintenance manual and other relevant instructions and tasks as appropriate for the type of aircraft, for example troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments,
replacements, rigging and functional checks such as engine run, etc, if required, b) Correctly use all technical literature and documentation for the aircraft, c) Correctly use specialist/special tooling and test equipment, perform removal and replacement of components The nominated trainer/assessor will sign off each task when satisfied that the
trainee has attained the demonstrable level of understanding that is required. PRE-REQUISIT The trainee must have participated and succeeded in a PART 147 theoretical type rating training (T1/T2 training). The assessors must have an experience of five years in the line maintenance and two years in the qualification of type. For any OJT, the
assessors will have to make a request by email at the Quality Department for validation of pre-requisit. ADDITIONAL PRACTICE At least one trouble shooting among the major ATA (*) must be performed. To be added in the additional practice from page 35. (*) ATA major: 21 to 80. ATIS Aronautique Parc Algorithmes Immeuble Thals 17, ave Didier
