MY REFLECTION / JOURNAL ENTRY


First Quarter

As Humanities and Social Sciences teacher teaching Introduction to World Religion and
Belief Systems, my primary goal is to encourage a deep sense of global understanding and
intercultural appreciation among my students. I believe that in today’s diverse world, it is essential
for students to develop a comprehensive understanding of various religious and belief systems,
which play a significant role in shaping societies, cultures, and individual identities. My teaching
philosophy four key principles: Respect on Differences, Nurture Empathy and Compassion, No to
Discrimination, Integrate Experiential Learning.

In this lesson, I have employed concept of Reflective thinking, by letting the students listen
to the song IMAGINE by John Lennon and let them think about the possible consequences if the
society does not have or has no respect to other religion.

Second Quarter

As Humanities and Social Sciences teacher, my teaching philosophy in Philippine Politics


and Governance revolves around empowering students to become well-informed, critical, and
engaged citizens. By adopting a student-centered approach, fostering active learning,
emphasizing the application of theory to practice, cultivating individual civilian responsibility,
respecting diverse perspectives, and embracing lifelong learning, I aspire to spark a passion for
politics and governance that extends beyond the classroom and into the hearts of my students.
Because as early as young age, we should know how important it is to be knowledgeable and
involve ourselves to the governing of our society.

In this lesson, I have employed concept of Think- Pair Share and Transference, by letting
the students answer several questions that involves about the governing of society as well as
their perception to what really politics is.

Third Quarter

As Humanities and Social Sciences teacher dedicated to teaching Disciplines and Ideas
in Applied Social Sciences, my philosophy centers on empowering students with understanding
of social dynamics and encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and ethical decision-making. I
believe in fostering a collaborative learning environment where students feel inspired to explore,
question, and apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. By blending theoretical concepts
with practical applications, my teaching aims to equip students with the skills and mindset
necessary to become well-rounded professionals who positively impact society.

In this lesson, I have employed the concept of reflective thinking and transference by
letting the students conduct a survey addressing the clientele and audiences’ counseling needs
and let them come up with a conclusion and recommendation on the different types of needs.

Fourth Quarter

As Humanities and Social Sciences teacher teaching Community Engagement, Solidarity


and Citizenship, I believe that education is not all about the transmission of knowledge but also
about empowering individuals to become responsible and empathetic global citizens. My teaching
philosophy centers on creating an inclusive and participatory learning environment that
encourages critical thinking, social awareness, and active involvement in society. Through
developing a deep sense of community, promoting solidarity, and instilling a strong sense of civic
responsibility, I aim to inspire my students to become agents of positive change in their
communities and the world at large.

In this lesson, I have employed the concept of reflective thinking by letting the students
think reflectively on how to let the core values grow and flourish through the representation of a
growing tree. Letting them write down things and actions that will make the core values grow and
flourish.
